On August 29, a representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that it is expected to serve about 120,000 passengers per day during the National Day holiday of September 2 (from August 30 to September 3). The total expected passenger volume is about 600,000 people.
Passengers wait to check in at Tan Son Nhat International Airport during the 2023 Tet holiday peak.
Compared to the current output of 110,000 passengers/day, passenger output increases by about 8% during the holiday. To meet the increased demand, airlines plan to operate about 700 flights per day. The number of flights increases by 5% compared to normal days. Especially on August 30 and September 3, the number of passengers reaches 125,000 people/day.
To ensure smooth operations, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has closely coordinated with units to develop plans and solutions to serve passengers, ensuring security, order and safety.
During the National Day holiday on September 2, Tan Son Nhat International Airport arranged a force including the Port Youth Union and the Aviation Academy Youth Union to support passengers at the security screening area and the domestic terminal lobby during peak hours from 5am to 9am every day.
To avoid situations that cause frustration for passengers, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has required airline representatives to be present at the counter to handle and promptly inform passengers in situations of flight delays or cancellations.
