New French Ambassador visits Hai Phong City, opening up new cooperation prospects

With many similarities and great room for development, economic cooperation between French and Hai Phong enterprises remains modest.

The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee hopes that during his term, the new Ambassador will support to promote investment cooperation between the two sides. In addition, the city plans to move to the new Political - Administrative Center, the old headquarters which were built by the French will be converted into museums, we hope that the Ambassador will pay attention to supporting the city in preserving the works and preserving the typical cultural values.

Thanking the city leaders for their warm welcome, Mr. Olivier Brochet, the new French Ambassador to Vietnam, said that his term had started with positive signals. He said he would do his best to promote cooperation between the two sides.

The Ambassador also highly appreciated the teaching of French at some high schools and universities in Hai Phong; besides, museums are one of the fields in which France has a lot of experience, so it will be able to support Hai Phong a lot.

To enhance cooperation between the two sides, the Medical Conference was held at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, where teaching is in French.

In addition, the Ambassador also informed about some projects such as the French-language Film Week in Hai Phong; the Oceanographic ship exhibiting specimens of marine pollution in Hai Phong and coastal cities; the project to build a diving school in Cat Ba to help develop the pearl mining industry and diving tourism.

The Ambassador hopes to receive support from the Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee so that the projects can be implemented soon. In addition, in the economic field, French enterprises in Hai Phong are currently facing difficulties in customs policies, and hope that the Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee will soon resolve them to create a premise for strengthening economic cooperation...
