BTO-In recent days, Binh Thuan has had heavy rains upstream, causing the amount of water flowing into reservoirs to carry many organic impurities, causing an increase in algae. This has greatly affected the treatment process of water plants supplying water to Phan Thiet City and surrounding areas. The expected recovery time is June 5, 2024.
According to Binh Thuan Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company, at 10:00 a.m. on June 3, at Ca Giang Lake (Ca Giang Water Plant) - Ham Thuan Bac, the amount of algae suddenly increased, unable to be processed, so Ca Giang Water Plant was forced to temporarily stop operating. The clean water source for Phan Thiet City and surrounding areas is currently only supplied from Phan Thiet Water Plant. Therefore, currently, some areas on the outskirts of Phan Thiet City such as Ham Liem, Ham Hiep, Ham Thang, Ham My, Ham Kiem, Tien Loi, Tien Thanh, Thien Nghiep communes; Phu Hai and Ham Tien wards will have weak or stopped water supply.
Binh Thuan Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company said that at this time, the Company is urgently implementing a number of measures to minimize the water shortage affecting the daily life and water use activities of customers.
At the same time, regulate the network to supply water alternately to the suburban areas of the city. At the same time, coordinate with Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company to discharge algae-contaminated water in Ca Giang Lake and regulate water from Song Quao Lake to replace it, and soon put Ca Giang Water Plant into operation to provide water in time.
