On February 18, the Department of Transport of Quang Tri province announced that it has temporarily stopped receiving applications for issuing and reissuing driver's licenses, both directly and online, from February 18.
According to the Quang Tri Province Department of Transport, the Vietnam Road Administration previously issued a document on the preparation for handing over the task of testing and issuing driving licenses from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Public Security. The handover is expected to be completed before February 19.
To complete the issuance of driving licenses for cases that have submitted applications to the Department of Transport, the Quang Tri Department of Transport has temporarily stopped receiving applications for issuance, renewal and re-issuance of driving licenses (both in person and online) from February 18, to ensure that all applications received are processed before February 19.
For those who have submitted their application for changing their driving license on the National Public Service Portal at http://dvc4.gplx.gov.vn before February 18, if you have any difficulties or problems, please contact the Department of Vehicle and Driver Management of the Quang Tri Department of Transport (73 National Highway 9, Dong Ha City) for guidance and support.
For those who have submitted their application for a driving license renewal directly at the Quang Tri Provincial Public Administration Service Center before February 18, if they have any difficulties or problems, please contact the Department of Receiving Applications and Returning Results of the Department of Transport at the Quang Tri Provincial Public Administration Service Center (No. 22 Tran Hung Dao, Dong Ha City) for guidance, support and answers.
Head of the Department of Vehicle and Driver Management of the Quang Tri Department of Transport, Tran Trung Thong, added that the suspension of receiving applications was due to the Ministry of Transport's document directing the departments of transport to complete printing of driver's licenses for applications received before 5:00 p.m. on February 19. "Due to the large number of applications, the department had to work day and night on February 18 and 19 to complete, so it had to temporarily suspend receiving applications. There is no expected time to resume receiving applications, we have to wait for instructions from the Ministry of Transport," said Mr. Thong.
As of 11:30 a.m. on February 17, the Quang Tri Department of Transport still had 506 applications received but not yet issued driving licenses, including: 300 applications for renewal, 108 applications for re-issuance, 30 applications for renewal of foreign driving licenses, and 68 applications for re-examination on February 13 that passed but have not yet completed printing of driving licenses.
