U.23 Vietnam's group at the 2024 AFC U.23 Championship
At the 2024 AFC U23 Championship (taking place in April 2024 in Qatar), the Vietnam U23 team is in Group D with Uzbekistan U23, Kuwait U23 and Malaysia U23. The 2024 AFC U23 Championship has 16 teams, divided equally into 4 groups. The teams will play in a round-robin format, calculating rankings. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The U.23 Vietnam team is in a group that is considered to be of moderate strength, so that they can aim to win a ticket to the round of 8 strong teams. At the most recent U.23 Asian Cup in 2023, U.23 Vietnam under the leadership of coach Gong Oh-kyun reached the quarterfinals and lost to U.23 Saudi Arabia (the team that later won the tournament).
