(Dan Tri) - The media in the archipelago country expressed joy when two Vietnamese players, Hung Dung and Que Ngoc Hai, were not on the list of players participating in the AFF Cup 2024.
Recently, coach Kim Sang Sik has called up the list of Vietnam national team to participate in the AFF Cup 2024. Among them, two veteran players, Hung Dung and Que Ngoc Hai, are not on this list.

Faced with that situation, the Indonesian press expressed joy. Bola.Okezone newspaper wrote: "Coach Shin Tae Yong smiled happily, the Vietnamese team will not have captain Hung Dung and central defender Que Ngoc Hai in the AFF Cup 2024".
The Indonesian newspaper commented: "Coach Shin Tae Yong will be very happy when the Vietnamese team does not call up two pillars, Do Hung Dung and Que Ngoc Hai, to attend the AFF Cup 2024.
Among them, Hung Dung was not called up because of his old age. Due to age issues, the former captain of the U22 Vietnam team who won the SEA Games is no longer in the best physical condition. Que Ngoc Hai is also not in good physical condition.
Coach Kim Sang Sik decided to drop these two players to make room for younger players. In the past, the duo Hung Dung and Ngoc Hai often posed many threats to the Indonesian team when coach Park Hang Seo was still in charge."

Commenting on the Indonesian team's squad, Bola.Okezone wrote: "Coach Shin Tae Yong has summoned 33 players to attend a training camp in Bali.
Of which, he called up 7 players playing abroad: Justin Hubner (U21 Wolves), Asnawi Mangkualam (Port FC), Pratama Arhan (Suwon FC), Ivar Jenner (Jong Utrecht), Rafael Struick (Brisbane Roar), Ronaldo Kwateh (Muangthong United) and Marselino Ferdinan (Oxford United).
However, even if called up, there is no guarantee that all players can join the Indonesian national team to participate in the AFF Cup 2024. This is a tournament that is not part of the FIFA competition system. The clubs have the right not to release players.
Indonesian fans hope that the President of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Erick Thohir can lobby clubs to release players for Indonesia to participate in the AFF Cup 2024. Only then can the team hope to win the AFF Cup championship for the first time in history."
Currently, the Vietnamese team is training in Korea to prepare for the AFF Cup 2024. We will have three friendly matches with Ulsan Citizen, Daegu FC, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC on November 27, November 29 and December 1.
Vietnam and Indonesia will be in Group B of the 2024 AFF Cup with the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos. The two teams will start on December 9. Indonesia will face Myanmar, while Vietnam will face Laos.
