(NLDO) - A group of workers constructing Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant unfortunately had an accident that left at least 3 people dead and 2 missing.
Authorities in Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province and other functional units are trying to find two workers who had an accident when falling into a water hole while constructing Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant, located in Dak Choong, Dak Glei district.
According to initial information, at around 3:00 a.m. on December 31, during the process of pouring concrete for the spillway of Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant, a group of workers unfortunately had an accident. Of these, 4 workers fell into a 4-5 meter deep hole and 1 worker was below.
Authorities are present at the scene investigating the incident.
While pouring concrete, a group of workers fell into a water hole from a height of 4-5 m.
Immediately after the incident, construction workers dived down to search for the victims but were unsuccessful. By noon on December 31, authorities had found the bodies of three workers.
Forces are clearing the road and bringing in pumps to pump water from the lake to search for the remaining two victims.
The victims were identified as: Ha Van Son (30 years old); Kha Van Khay (26 years old), Ngan Van Long (32 years old) and Luong Van Hung (20 years old, all from Nghe An), workers of Dung Phuc Loc Company (Cat Vang commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province).
The remaining victim is A Tuat (24 years old, residing in Dak Choong commune, Dak Glei district), a worker at Nguyen Duoc Company.
Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant has a capacity of 84 MW, located in Dak Choong commune, Dak Glei district. The project has a total investment of more than 3,500 billion VND, started in 2009, and is not yet completed.
