According to IDC , global PC shipments in the second quarter fell 13.4% year-over-year in 2022. This is the sixth consecutive quarter of decline in the PC market.

Experts say the difficult economic situation, combined with a sharp decline in demand from both personal and business users, has severely impacted the computer market. However, this result is still significantly better than initial expectations.
"Inventory in the distribution channels has been dragging the market down. This is gradually decreasing, but vendors are still working to clear the inventory that was there before," said Jitesh Ubrani, senior director at IDC.
Lenovo remains the world's largest PC maker with 23.1% market share. The next positions are followed by HP (21.8%), Dell (16.8%), Apple (8.6%) and Acer (6.4%). Of these, Apple is the only manufacturer that has maintained positive growth.
According to Ryan Reith, a senior analyst at IDC , the PC industry has faced a serious supply-demand imbalance over the past five years. He added that studies show that users will prioritize smartphones over computers.
