According to ING , the latest Afeela EV prototype was driven by Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) President and COO Izumi Kawanishi, who demonstrated the DualSense on stage. However, Kawanishi said the demonstration was simply intended to “showcase the technology.”

Kawanishi added that the company believes software can help define new functions and values. The tech demonstration was intended to show the relationship between humans and mobility in the future. Still, it was a surprising moment at Sony’s CES 2024 press conference, and it shocked viewers online when they first saw it.
Controlling the Afeela EV with DualSense isn't the only gaming/entertainment-related news Sony Honda Mobility is bringing to CES 2024 as Kawanishi also showed off some possible options, including Fortnite and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse themes on the in-car display.
Additionally, more details were revealed about Sony Honda Mobility's partnership with game developer Epic Games, which was shown in a simulator that will use "virtual space to create new user experiences around mobility."

Sony Honda Mobility says the tool simulates outside environmental conditions such as information about other vehicles, pedestrians, terrain, and weather. By combining this technology with AR (augmented reality), users will enjoy a great experience while improving safety. The company claims: "SHM provides visually stunning 3D maps overlaid with extensive metadata from the internet. The map data can also be used to expand the possibilities for developing gaming and entertainment features."
