Giang Dong village, Ea Dah commune, Krong Nang district, Dak Lak province is mainly inhabited by Mong ethnic people. This place used to be a "hot spot" for drugs, causing many people's lives to fall into poverty, becoming a haunting fear for the community. But now, Giang Dong is full of vitality, its appearance is prosperous, people's lives are increasingly prosperous and happy, the dark traces of the past are gradually fading away. On December 30, 2024, the Population Department organized the announcement of the results of the Population Industry Logo Design Contest. "The blade of grass cannot reach the clouds, but the grass does not stop growing straight, there are limits in life that we may not be able to overcome, but that is not the reason for us to stop trying." The Cao Lan ethnic cultural identity preservation and promotion club in Dai Phu commune, Son Duong district always focuses on organizing and implementing rituals and traditional cultural beauty of the ethnic group in festival activities.

In recent years, in Son Duong, reality shows that the young generation mainly goes to school, at home, and at work and speaks the common language, so a part of the San Diu ethnic youth do not know how to sing Soong Co, the risk of losing their mother tongue is getting bigger.

Faced with this reality, in recent years, Son Duong district (Tuyen Quang) has implemented synchronous practical and effective solutions, including building, maintaining and developing cultural activities through traditional cultural clubs.

The Department of Culture and Information of Son Duong district is the advisory and implementing unit that has actively promoted and mobilized the establishment of cultural clubs. Accordingly, many classes and clubs have been established. A typical example is the Soong Co singing club in Ninh Lai commune. Up to now, the number of members has reached 120 people. Currently, in the commune, there are 3 excellent artisans and folk artisans who are working enthusiastically, actively and effectively.

According to folk artist Luc Thi Tu, Ninh Lai Soong Co Club, if you want to sing Soong Co, you must know the San Diu ethnic language. Therefore, artist Luc Thi Tu discussed carefully with the board of directors of Ninh Lai Soong Co Club to determine to review and select children of the right age to open a class to teach San Diu language.

As a teacher, Ms. Luc Thi Tu has many pedagogical skills. She has re-edited the curriculum to be concise, specific, easy to learn, and easy to remember. Classes were opened with dozens of students, after a period of persistent training, all of them spoke San Diu fluently. After completing the language learning stage, the artists of the Soong singing club in Ninh Lai commune continued to teach basic melodies, then moved on to advanced practice with many difficult songs.

In addition, communication activities are widely deployed to villages and hamlets throughout the district, in many rich and diverse forms such as: integrating conferences, village and hamlet meetings; Party cell activities; organizing cultural and artistic activities from the grassroots to the district level to create a space for cultural exchange between ethnic minority communities...

Up to now, Son Duong district has 47 cultural and artistic clubs. In 2023-2024, the district's Department of Culture and Information has supported the construction of 06 folk culture clubs in communes (Tan Trao, Trung Yen, Tan Thanh, Dong Tho, Ninh Lai, Dai Phu) under Project 6 "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development" under the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Ms. Ha Thi Thuy Dieu, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Son Duong district, said that the Clubs not only act as the core for the art movement and cultural preservation at the grassroots level, but also bring the identity of the San Diu people of Tuyen Quang to exchange with the whole country, especially provinces with San Diu people such as Vinh Phuc and Quang Ninh.

Organizing cultural exchange activities not only creates a healthy playground for young people, but also contributes to preserving the traditional cultural identity of the people (In the photo: Soong Co Singing Club, Ninh Lai commune performs the song "Singing Lullaby"

The establishment of clubs to preserve national cultural identity has attracted a large number of young people to participate. The clubs have become a common home for children and grandchildren to promote the spirit of community activities.

Here, the children are taught folk arts, languages, and traditional costume sewing and embroidery by their grandmothers and mothers. This has aroused the awareness of preserving and conserving their ethnic culture in the younger generation. At the same time, it has also strengthened national unity.

This will contribute to effectively promoting investment resources of the State, society and community in the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities.

These clubs encourage and motivate ethnic minorities to actively participate in cultural identity preservation activities; promote the role of ethnic minorities in replicating traditional cultural preservation models.
