Despite unfavorable weather, the construction of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway through Ha Tinh is still underway because the project's completion deadline is approaching.

During this time, due to the frequent influence of cold air, the weather in Ha Tinh area has rain and low temperatures. Although not favorable, at the construction site of the North-South expressway project, Dien Chau - Bai Vot section through Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh), contractors still arrange human resources and machinery to carry out construction.
In the 4.84km length of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway through Ha Tinh, Hung Duc bridge, the overpass at the intersection of National Highway 8, and the rest stop are important items of the project.
At the overpass at the National Highway 8 intersection, the contractor's machinery - Dai Hiep Company Limited is busy rolling the static crushed stone layer on the 2 sections of the road leading up to the bridge and constructing the bridge surface. The construction of the crushed stone layer was interrupted by the weather. In case the rain is not too heavy, the unit can still proceed normally.
According to engineer Vuong Dao Chau - Dai Hiep Company Limited, when the weather clears up, the company can start paving the bridge deck and the road leading to the overpass. If everything goes well, the overpass on National Highway 8 can be technically opened to traffic in early January 2024. The operation of the overpass will reduce the load on the service road serving the previous project construction.
At the Hung Duc bridge project connecting Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An) with Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh), the drilling of bored piles, pouring of concrete for piers, and casting of bridge girders have been basically completed. Currently, the contractor is installing super-T bridge girders at the final "joints" on the nearly 4.1km long bridge.
Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway has 31 bridges, of which Hung Duc Bridge is the largest, 4.1km long, with a total investment of more than 1,200 billion VND. The bridge crosses Lam River - a river with a large basin and slope. During the construction process, the contractor had to use many large barges with modern machinery and equipment.
For bridge sections where the bridge girder installation has been completed, the contractor will assign teams to install the bridge railings.
The contractor is hoping to complete the Hung Duc Bridge before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin to meet the overall project schedule of completion in May 2024. When completed, Hung Duc will be one of the longest road bridges in Vietnam.
According to the plan, the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway must "reach the finish line" in May 2024. With the time left to complete the project, while the overall progress of the project is not as expected, Phuc Thanh Hung Joint Stock Company - the enterprise operating and managing the project, is directing contractors to focus on human resources and machinery, speeding up the construction progress with the goal of ensuring the set plan.
Therefore, although the weather in the area has not been favorable recently, the contractor still "overcame difficulties" and arranged adequate human resources and machinery for implementation.
If the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway is completed as planned, from May 2024, Ha Tinh people when going to Hanoi and the northern provinces and cities, can go from National Highway 8 to the intersection, then can get on the expressway.
The North-South Eastern Expressway Project, phase 2017-2020, Dien Chau - Bai Vot section, has a total length of more than 49 km, passing through 3 districts in Nghe An province (44.4 km) and Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province (4.9 km), is one of three component projects invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). In the phased phase, the project scale is 4 lanes, the roadbed width is 17m, the roadbed width for the deep excavation and embankment sections is 32.25m. In the completed phase, the project will be invested in a scale of 6 lanes, the roadbed width is 32.25m. The project has a total investment capital of more than 11,157 billion VND in the phase, of which the capital mobilized by investors is 5,090 billion VND, and the State capital participating in the project is more than 6,067 billion VND. The project started in 2021 and is expected to be completed in May 2024. The operating time to recover capital is 16 years, 6 months, 8 days. |
