On the morning of December 12, the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ngai province organized a ceremony to respond to and support the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province at the call of provincial leaders and the Government.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ngai province, Tran Thanh Truong, said that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is one of the major policies of the Party and State, aiming to help the poor escape poverty and stabilize their lives, so the cooperation of the whole society is needed.
“With the spirit of mutual love and support, “the rich help the poor”, in many different ways under possible conditions, we all join hands to contribute and take care of the material and spiritual life of the people.
Especially households with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households, households living in areas with especially difficult economic conditions, areas frequently affected by natural disasters according to the motto "No one is left behind", Mr. Truong said.
In order to successfully achieve the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the province by the end of 2025, the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ngai mobilized and called on press agencies, all cadres, civil servants and public employees of the Department to join hands to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province to help people live in safe, durable houses, feel secure in working, producing and stabilizing their lives.

The ceremony to respond to the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is also an opportunity for Quang Ngai media managers to contribute to the achievements in celebrating the 80th anniversary of Ba To Uprising (March 11), the 50th anniversary of Quang Ngai Province Liberation Day (March 24) and the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
“We request that press agencies continue to do a good job of disseminating the content, purpose and significance of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province; increase the duration and improve the quality of news and articles reflecting the situation and implementation results; good experiences, creative and effective ways of implementing the Program,” Mr. Truong expressed.
The press accompanies people facing housing difficulties
According to statistics, the whole Quang Ngai province still has about 9,000 households with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives; poor households, near-poor households, households negatively affected by natural disasters and climate change living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses, unsafe houses or no houses. However, resources from the State budget and provincial budget to support the elimination of temporary houses and dilapidated houses for people still face many difficulties and limitations.
At the launching ceremony, representatives of 4 press agencies including Tien Phong Newspaper, Vietnam Law Newspaper, Construction Newspaper, and Investor Magazine presented symbolic plaques supporting the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Ngai province.
Representatives of press agencies stationed in Quang Ngai participating in supporting the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses said that responding to the call of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Information and Communications to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor and those facing housing difficulties is a necessary thing to do and the press always accompanies the authorities at all levels and the people, especially the disadvantaged and those in difficult circumstances, so that all people in the province "are not left behind".

Previously, at the launching ceremony to support the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses organized by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province on November 28, agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province joined hands to support with an amount of more than 242.3 billion VND.
In which, the representative of Nhan Dan newspaper in Quang Ngai presented a symbolic sign to support 500 million VND.
Journalist Duong Hien Cu, Head of the representative office of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Quang Ngai shared: Responding to the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Nhan Dan Newspaper has actively and proactively coordinated with the province to support the construction of houses for people facing housing difficulties.
"This donation comes from contributions from the newspaper's staff at home and abroad. Although the amount is not large, we hope that shelters will be built, helping the poor and those with housing difficulties have stable places to live, thereby creating motivation to improve their lives. Join hands to build and develop our homeland," emphasized journalist Duong Hien Cu.
