This week, Kenyan investigators dug shallow graves scattered across the Shakahola Forest in the southwest of the country to find remains and search for survivors. A previous excavation revealed the bodies were missing body parts, suspected to have been stolen by organ traffickers.

In a statement on May 13, Rhodah Onyancha, a local official, said that hundreds of people were still missing. Police had arrested another suspect, bringing the total number of people detained to 26.
