On July 28, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to review the work of Labor, People with Merits and Social Affairs in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2023.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue documents related to the fields under its management, and proactively developed programs and plans for implementation. During the Lunar New Year 2023, the sector advised on the good implementation of social security work, organized visits and presented over 150,000 gifts worth over 61.5 billion VND to policy beneficiaries, meritorious people, the elderly, social protection beneficiaries and children in especially difficult circumstances in the province. In the first 6 months of the year, jobs were created for over 10,000 people, of which 881 were exported workers.

The work of preventing and combating social evils, protecting and caring for children, and gender equality has been focused on. In particular, the sector has also focused on guiding localities to effectively implement Resolution No. 43, dated March 10, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council on supporting the construction and repair of houses for poor households in the province in the period of 2023-2025, striving to have 100% of approved poor households complete the construction and repair of houses in accordance with regulations by the end of 2023...

At the conference, delegates discussed and shared difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing tasks; contributed ideas to develop solutions and complete tasks in the last months of the year.

In particular, the focus is on solutions to improve the effectiveness of vocational training in the direction of closely following the actual needs of the labor market; updating information on the labor market database in 2023; directing, monitoring and urging the entry of labor supply and demand information into the labor market database software... as a basis for performing the role of a "bridging" job between workers and businesses; checking the implementation of the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction in 2023; completing the implementation of the housing support policy for poor households approved in 2023...
