On the afternoon of June 16, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Party Committee held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 31-KL/TW dated April 16, 2018 of the Politburo on Vietnam's defense strategy. Colonel Le Van Dien, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command (CHQS) chaired the conference. Attending and directing the conference were Colonel Hoang Duy Chien, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 4 and leaders of the Organization and Operations Departments of Military Region 4; leaders of provincial departments and branches.

Conference overview

Over the past 5 years, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the Military Region Command, and the assistance of military region agencies, directly the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Military Party Committee has coordinated with departments, branches, and sectors to advise the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee to direct, organize, and effectively implement the Vietnam national defense strategy in the province, contributing significantly to building and consolidating the province's solid national defense, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development, strengthening the defense and security potential, building an all-people national defense, a solid all-people national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture, building a strong provincial defense area, contributing to protecting independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, protecting the Party, the State, the People, and the socialist regime.

Colonel Le Van Dien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, presented certificates of merit to collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 24 and Conclusion No. 31 on Vietnam's National Defense Strategy.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Hoang Duy Chien, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 4, acknowledged and commended the results that the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have achieved after 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 24 and Conclusion No. 31 of the Politburo. He requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command of Thanh Hoa need to perform well a number of tasks, namely: Continue to study, thoroughly grasp and implement directives and resolutions of higher levels; concretize the development of plans, issue leadership documents, and direct the implementation of practical tasks of units and localities. Do a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities to lead and direct the building of all-people national defense, all-people national defense posture associated with a strong people's security posture, and build increasingly solid defense areas. Maintain strict combat readiness, focus on training to improve command organization skills, and coordinate with military units stationed in the province. Promote military diplomacy, maintain territorial sovereignty, Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan border, build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, stable and developing border.

On this occasion, the Provincial Military Party Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 31-KL/TW on Vietnam's National Defense Strategy of the Politburo.
