Implementing the work plan, the 5-year review conference of the Sea and Island Propaganda Coordination Program for the period 2019-2024 will be held by the Party Committee and the Navy Command on July 19.
The conference is an opportunity to comprehensively evaluate the leadership and direction of the organization and implementation of coordinated propaganda activities on seas and islands between the Party Committee and the Navy Command with the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Government and central agencies and press agencies nationwide; thereby proposing policies and solutions to continue improving the quality of coordinated propaganda on seas and islands in the current situation.

In recent years, we have seriously implemented the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, 11th and 13th tenures on "Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation", the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee, 10th tenure on "Vietnam's marine strategy to 2020", the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, 12th tenure on "Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045", implemented the direction of the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of National Defense, directly the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Party Committee, the Navy Command and the Party committees and commanders at all levels, regularly paying attention to leading, directing, comprehensively, systematically and in-depthly implementing the contents of the solutions for the program of coordinating propaganda on seas and islands with the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Government and 16 Central agencies and press agencies nationwide.
In the period of 2019-2024, 63 provinces and cities and 16 agencies and units have strongly participated, synchronously deployed solutions to implement the Party's resolutions and policies, the State's policies and laws on seas and islands; issued many documents to lead and direct the implementation of tasks; many localities established Steering Committees and Mobilization Committees for the movements "Fund for Vietnam's seas and islands", "Fund for the homeland's seas and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland", "Fund for beloved Truong Sa"...

Every year, the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, City Party Committee, agencies and units promotes its role and responsibility as a standing agency, actively and proactively advising and helping the Party Committee develop and implement plans to coordinate with the Navy to carry out specific activities, associated with the political tasks of the locality, agency and unit.
The press agencies coordinated with the Navy to organize propaganda for many events, especially on the struggle to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands; commemorating the traditional day; the typical feats of the Vietnam People's Navy; foreign defense activities, rescue, etc., creating a profound social effect among all classes of people and overseas Vietnamese, gaining support from countries and international organizations in the cause of fighting and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Through assessment, the coordination of propaganda work on the sea and islands between the Party Committee, the Navy Command with the Provincial Party Committees, the Municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Government and the Central agencies, and the press agencies has been deployed synchronously and comprehensively in many contents and fields.

The focus is on coordinating information and propaganda, contributing to raising awareness among all classes of people and overseas Vietnamese about the position and role of the sea and islands in the cause of national construction and defense; coordinating the organization of delegations to visit and encourage the army and people of Truong Sa and officers and soldiers of the DK-I platform on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland; coordinating the implementation of cultural and artistic activities, traditions, mass mobilization, search and rescue, defense diplomacy and implementing the Army's rear policy; combining propaganda about the sea and islands with promoting propaganda to attract resources and taking care of training, perfecting, practicing, and improving the qualifications and political capacity of reporters at all levels.
According to the plan, at the conference, the Party Committee and the Navy Command will award collectives and individuals with many contributions in implementing coordinated propaganda activities on seas and islands in the period of 2019-2024.
