On July 4, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a document to the Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts; principals of primary schools, middle schools, high schools, and multi-level general schools in Ho Chi Minh City regarding the reception of transfer students from the American International School (American International School, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires the Chairman of the School Board and the Principal of the American International School to assign personnel and organize the implementation of school transfer procedures; create the most favorable conditions for parents when they come to contact and provide complete documents when completing school transfer procedures.
On the side of high schools, the principals of high schools accept transfer students at the request of the students' parents.
In order to facilitate parents of students of the American International School in transferring schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has deployed school transfer software from now until September 1, 2024 at https://chuyentruong.hcm.edu.vn/
When transferring schools through the above software, in addition to reviewing, adjusting, and updating the database, principals of general schools are responsible for providing complete information and specific instructions to parents.
For cases where American International School students studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program want to transfer to foreign-invested high schools, non-public high schools that teach the IB Program or foreign programs, parents log in to the software and select "Transfer school for American International Primary, Middle and High School students".
Then, parents enter information in the sections "Student information", "Residence information", "Information confirmation", submit registration and print confirmation.
Principals of high schools that teach the IB program or foreign programs will check the registration on the software and contact parents to guide them in submitting the correct application before accepting students.
For students studying in grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 in the 2023-2024 school year, American International School wants to transfer to public and non-public high schools that teach the program of the Ministry of Education and Training (General Education Program 2018), parents log in to the software, select "Transfer school for students of American International Primary, Secondary and High School", enter information and submit registration, print confirmation. The principals of these high schools will receive students, notify parents to prepare documents according to regulations.
The school decides to establish a Student Proficiency Test Council and informs parents of the proficiency test plan to conduct the test and admit students in accordance with regulations.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires specialized departments under the Department of Education and Training to be responsible for receiving and guiding parents of students who have not been accepted after registering to transfer schools.
The Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and districts instructed primary and secondary schools to receive students transferred from the American International School in accordance with regulations.
Primary schools, middle schools, high schools, and multi-level public and non-public schools (including foreign-invested schools) in Ho Chi Minh City must complete the process of accepting students before September 1, 2024.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City decided to suspend the operation of the American International School from July 1, 2024 due to failure to ensure operating conditions. The suspension decision is effective for 12 months.
