Students participate in the final round of the science and technology research competition for the 2022-2023 school year

Accordingly, the science and technology (S&T) competition is for 8th and 9th graders, high school students, continuing education centers, vocational education and continuing education centers. Specifically, the Department of Education and Training stipulates that S&T research projects will revolve around 22 fields, such as: animal science, social and behavioral sciences, biochemistry , biomedical and health sciences, chemistry , mathematics, microbiology, physics and astronomy, robots and smart machines...

The project can be from 1 student or a group of 2 students in the same unit. Each student can only participate in 1 project. Projects can be plans, solutions, models, specific products, and can be made in the form of video clips under 3 minutes.

The Department of Education and Training also clearly stipulates the conditions for schools to participate in the science and technology research competition: they must have student scientific research activities and organize science and technology competitions at the facility.

Regarding the number of entries, each Department of Education and Training registers a maximum of 22 projects, while Thu Duc City registers a maximum of 44 projects. High schools, continuing education centers, and vocational education and continuing education centers register a maximum of 3 projects.

Contestants whose projects won first prize in the city-level science and technology competition for students in the 2022-2023 school year can register for 3 more projects. Contestants whose projects participated in the national science and technology competition for students in the last 5 years can register for a maximum of 3 more projects.

According to the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the above regulations aim to bring scientific research activities in high schools into depth, becoming an annual educational activity. Thereby promoting the innovation process of each school, effectively supporting innovation in teaching methods, testing and evaluation in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities. Promoting teachers to improve their professional and technical capacity, improving the quality of teaching in secondary and high schools.

Through this playground, schools effectively implement STEM education in schools, encourage universities, colleges, research institutes, etc. to support scientific and technical research activities of high school students.
