Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc requested the Department of Education and Training and the interdisciplinary working group to inspect the operations of AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and AISVN International School.
Strengthen monitoring, supervision and direction of AISVN International School to ensure learning conditions, main content of the curriculum, teaching quality of the school and learning quality of students. Any arising issues must be promptly reported to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for consideration and direction.
Many factors affect the school's teaching plan.
On April 13, the Department of Education and Training reported to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the operation of AISVN International School from April 8 to 12. Specifically, the account to receive financial support to maintain the school's educational activities until the end of the 2023-2024 school year, with the consent of parents, is about 30.5 billion VND.
Regarding educational activities, the school has 1,087 students (a decrease of 33 students compared to the previous period). Of which, the primary level has 42/49 foreign teachers; 12/14 Vietnamese teachers and 395/428 students attending school. The secondary level has 55/74 foreign teachers; 10/13 Vietnamese teachers and 547/659 students attending school. There are 95/103 employees working.
According to the report of the Principal of AISVN International School, as of April 12, the school has received 10 official resignation letters from foreign teachers. This will affect the school's teaching and learning plan in the coming time.
Develop a classroom organization structure plan to ensure student rights.
The Department of Education and Training continues to direct specialized departments to closely monitor the school's teaching activities and discuss with the principal to develop a plan for classroom organization and structure to ensure the rights of students.
The Department of Secondary Education was assigned to study and propose solutions to the request of the Principal of AISVN International School to adjust the school year plan. Accordingly, all grades will end the school year program on April 26, while grade 12 students will return to school until May 17 to complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) exam.
The Department of Education and Training continues to receive information and process petitions from parents; provide guidance to parents of students who want to transfer schools; provide professional guidance to schools that accept students from this school, ensuring that students are given the opportunity to study and integrate into the new environment.
Is there an investment fund to restructure AISVN International School?
The Department of Education and Training also requested AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and AISVN International School to publicly disclose parents' financial contributions, send thank you letters and the school's educational operation plan until the end of the 2023-2024 school year via email to parents. The school must confirm the funds contributed by parents to support the school's educational operations until the end of the 2023-2024 school year, and commit to repaying them after restructuring the company. The school must urgently report on solutions to stabilize the student situation in the coming period until the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Also in the report submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training said that it had organized a working session with the Board of Directors of AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and representatives of DMH Capital Group, INC, the unit planning to invest and restructure AISVN International School.
