Hanoi Department of Education and Training requests transfer of 174 'illegally recruited' 10th grade students

Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested To Hien Thanh High School to organize a meeting with 174 parents of 10th grade students, Van Lang High School (the proposed unit that will receive students wishing to transfer - PV) to agree on a handling plan to ensure the consensus of 100% of parents.

174 10th grade students "illegally recruited" by To Hien Thanh High School will be transferred to other schools if their parents agree.

The school must apologize to parents for the violations in the 10th grade enrollment process without permission from the Department of Education and Training. For parents who wish to transfer to another school, the school must provide guidance and create conditions for students to transfer according to regulations. Absolutely do not force parents.

Regarding the plan to handle the above violations, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training proposed: to administratively sanction To Hien Thanh High School according to regulations, if necessary, to recommend that the city revoke the school's operating license, if there are signs of criminality, to transfer to the police agency for handling according to regulations.

The Department also requested To Hien Thanh High School to review the school's individual and organizational responsibilities.

In addition, the leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also assigned the department's specialized departments to inspect and guide the school to overcome shortcomings; review and inspect the 10th grade admission conditions of Van Lang High School, ensuring adequate facilities to receive the number of transferred students as proposed by To Hien Thanh High School (if parents volunteer).

Hope to transfer school soon and settle down

Following the above direction from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, To Hien Thanh High School held a meeting with parents of grade 10 students, the investor, and the Board of Directors of Van Lang High School. At the meeting, the leaders of Van Lang High School said that this year the school was assigned 600 quotas by the department but had not yet recruited enough. The missing number also matched the number of 174 students illegally recruited by To Hien Thanh High School.

According to this leader, if the department agrees and the parents agree, the school will come up with a specific plan for the study location. Regarding tuition, the collection level is 1.8 and 2.3 million VND/month, depending on whether parents choose the basic or enhanced system. In addition, parents pay 6 million VND/school year for facilities.

Many parents said that at this point they do not have many options, so most will agree to the option of transferring to Van Lang High School. Parents only hope that the next steps will be carried out urgently so that their children can soon settle down in their new school.

As Thanh Nien reported, recently parents whose children are in grade 10 at To Hien Thanh High School reported that their children had been studying at the school for about 2 months before learning that this year the school was not assigned enrollment quotas because "it did not meet legal conditions regarding the location of operation".

Therefore, 174 grade 10 students studying at the school are not listed in the management system of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. This also means that they will not be able to take the high school graduation exam later.

Sharing with the press, a representative of To Hien Thanh High School admitted that the school had enrolled students without a license. After the incident "broke out", the school held a meeting with parents and proposed to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to transfer 174 10th grade students of this school to Van Lang High School (in Dong Da District, Hanoi).
