As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , starting from the 2024-2025 school year, the School of Business and Administration (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi will provide full scholarships to children and grandchildren of martyrs and war invalids of all periods while studying at the school.
Notably, the school stipulates that scholarships are granted to both the grandchildren of war invalids and martyrs of all periods.
Need to expand "gratitude" scholarships
Many readers welcome this school policy and hope that other universities should replicate this scholarship.
Reader Minh Gioi expressed: "The policy of granting full scholarships to children of war invalids and martyrs is a practical action, with humane meaning, demonstrating the responsibility and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree" of the Vietnamese people towards the great contributions of heroes who selflessly fought and sacrificed to protect the beloved Fatherland, gaining independence and freedom for the nation.
Hopefully, this is not only a gratitude movement within the framework of a university but needs to be expanded nationwide in both general education and vocational training environments. The movement of granting full and partial scholarships in the field of education and training contributes to showing gratitude and giving preferential treatment to those with meritorious services and their descendants."
"This school is truly admirable! This model should be replicated in all training facilities" - reader Phong Vu commented.
Besides, many readers also sent their opinions to Tuoi Tre Online : Does HSB expand the recipients of the gratitude scholarship?
Reader Phan Minh wondered: "May I ask if the grandchildren of the Vietnamese Heroic Mother are eligible for the school's preferential program?"
Reader Nguyen Van Cuong asked: "Do the grandchildren of war invalids of all kinds receive any preferential treatment from the school?"
Reader Nguyen Phuong Thao wondered: "I would like to ask the school's board of directors, if a second-year student of the school has a grandfather who is a martyr, will that student be eligible for this policy of the school? What are the procedures to receive it?"
Will consider each specific case
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of the School of Business and Administration (HSB) said that from the 2024 school year, the school will grant full scholarships to children and grandchildren (grandchildren and grandchildren) of war invalids (level 1/4), sick soldiers, and martyrs of all periods.
The school will grant full scholarships for the first semester of the training program to students who meet the following conditions: Being an excellent student for 3 years of high school or having an IELTS English certificate or equivalent with a score of 5.5 or higher.
Conditions for maintaining the scholarship from semester II: According to the conditions for maintaining the scholarship in section 12.1.3 (average score of all semesters during the study period at HSB is from 2.8/4.0 or higher (European scale, equivalent to nearly 7/10 points) and good training score or higher (equivalent to a good scholarship, based on temporary regulations on management and use of scholarships at Hanoi National University).
If a student is in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of the school and his grandfather is a martyr, will that student be eligible for the school's full scholarship policy, or does this scholarship policy only apply to new students?
Answering the question, the school representative said that 2024 is the first year the school will implement a full scholarship program for new undergraduate students. For other subjects, the school will consider and weigh each specific case.
If you have any questions about this scholarship policy, please contact the school directly for answers.
