The Ministry of Education and Training has inspected, reminded, and requested the school to reorganize meals according to regulations.

The Ministry of Education and Training will rectify universities, academies, and national defense and security education centers regarding the organization of centralized meals for students.

The Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that the act of saving leftover rice and soup to continue distributing to students is unacceptable.

He also said that the Board of Directors of Hanoi University of Science and Technology is aware of its direct responsibility for allowing this to happen. The school immediately terminated the contract with the current food supplier for new students studying national defense and security education.

At the same time, assign relevant units to daily direct inspection and supervision of the quantity and quality of food used according to prescribed standards and ensure food hygiene and safety.

Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Dang Chinh added that according to the explanation of the catering unit, the foreign object in the food such as cockroaches was true. The kitchen explained that it was due to carelessness and not noticing the cockroaches crawling into the meat slicer. When there was a complaint from the students, the kitchen immediately handled it.

While waiting for a new food supplier, Hanoi University of Science and Technology’s A15 cafeteria has been asked to temporarily suspend operations. Meals for new students will be served at the school’s staff cafeteria, which can accommodate about 200 people.

On October 8, student meals at Hanoi University of Science and Technology have improved a lot.

The school assigns the student affairs department to check and monitor the quantity and quality of food used daily according to prescribed standards, ensuring food hygiene and safety.

Hot rice will not be divided into a large bowl, placed at each table as before, but will be placed in a fixed area, in a warming box for students to pick up as needed.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology has posted QR codes for students to directly report on issues at the school. Through this method, the school will proactively grasp and avoid incidents that the school does not know about.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, according to the reflection of many students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, they had to eat leftover rice and soup with many foreign objects during the time studying National Defense and Security Education at school.

Specifically, students in the food service support group said they were assigned to collect leftover rice from each table and mix it well. Then, the kitchen staff poured the leftover rice into a common rice container and continued to distribute it to the groups of students who came to eat later.

Not only was leftover rice reused, but half-eaten bowls of soup from each table were also collected and poured into the pot. Afterwards, the kitchen asked the students of the service squad to put all the leftover soup into a common pot to be shared with the others.

In particular, some students reported seeing many foreign objects in their meals, causing many of them to be scared and have to buy bread to eat.
