According to the Assessment Report on the current status of human resources in the Construction industry by the Vietnam Construction Association, the current status of human resources in this industry in our country is uneven in many aspects. In terms of quantity, if the average structure between engineers - intermediate professionals - apprentices worldwide is 1 - 4 - 10, then this ratio in Vietnam is only equivalent to 1 - 1.3 - 0.5. This ratio reflects the situation of having too many teachers and not enough workers.
In terms of quality, the proportion of trained construction workers in Vietnam is 65%, but it still does not meet the development needs of the industry and does not keep up with the development trends of society. In addition, although the training and development of cadres and engineers has increased every year, the quality and structure of the labor force in the whole industry has not been paid attention to, leading to the unreasonable training, use and development of quality human resources.
In the face of the above situation, the task of improving the quality of human resources in the construction industry is extremely necessary to improve the core competencies of future generations. With the desire to contribute to solving these challenges, Sika Vietnam has signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with leading educational institutions in the region including: Western University of Construction (under the Ministry of Construction), Danang University of Technology - Danang University, and Ho Chi Minh City College of Architecture and Construction (under the City People's Committee). These are large, prestigious and specialized colleges and universities. In addition, the schools all have faculties and training majors related to the activities of the construction industry in general and Sika Vietnam in particular.

The cooperation aims to train quality human resources with practical knowledge, skills and quick adaptation to work after graduation. The joint training and human resource development programs are aimed at those working in the construction industry such as lecturers, students, and working personnel who need to supplement their knowledge and update new technologies. In addition, cooperation in research and development, support, training exchange, and coaching for lecturers; updating and transferring new technologies and modern equipment in the construction industry are also necessary steps to help Sika Vietnam better grasp market requirements, thereby developing a product system that is most suitable for the local environment, climate, and soil.

With that steadfast belief, the Cooperation Agreement between Sika Vietnam and 3 colleges and universities focuses on the following 4 main points. Firstly, investing in systems and products that are displayed and used as learning materials in the training programs of the Faculty and the University. Secondly, coordinating the organization of specialized seminars, career guidance activities, introducing strengths and development trends of the construction industry. Thirdly, coordinating the organization of training programs, professional development, and career competitions according to the practical needs of the market. Finally, creating conditions and opportunities for practical experience at construction sites, factories and interactive sessions with large corporations in the industry.
