Japanese company Aspark celebrated after its electric car broke two speed records on May 23.

Aspark's Owl supercar performed convincingly in Yorkshire, Northern England, setting two Guinness records for average speed.

Over the 200 m distance the Owl reached an average speed of 309.02 km/h and over the 402 m distance the car reached a speed of 318.85 km/h.

The electric car can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.72 seconds. The 1,980-horsepower car also has a top speed of 260 mph and a range of about 250 miles per charge. It takes about 40 minutes to fully charge the Owl's battery.
