Japanese company Aspark celebrated after its electric car broke two speed records on May 23.
Aspark's Owl supercar performed convincingly in Yorkshire, Northern England, setting two Guinness records for average speed.
Over the 200 m distance the Owl reached an average speed of 309.02 km/h and over the 402 m distance the car reached a speed of 318.85 km/h.
The electric car can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.72 seconds. The 1,980-horsepower car also has a top speed of 260 mph and a range of about 250 miles per charge. It takes about 40 minutes to fully charge the Owl's battery.
Aspark will start selling the Owl to customers in 2020 for $3.19 million each.
The Osaka-based company has been developing the Owl electric vehicle since 2015. The company currently has over 3,500 employees and 25 offices around the world.
