Gracenote predicts the chances of teams advancing in the group stage.
Gracenote predicts the US team has the highest chance of winning the championship with 18%. The US team is the current champion and has won the last 2 times. Germany and Sweden are next with 11%. The 2011 world champion, Japan, has a 3% chance of winning the gold cup. The other two Asian teams, South Korea and China, have only a 1% chance.
" Our simulations show that the 2023 Women's World Cup will be an open and highly competitive tournament. European teams and host Australia will pose a challenge to the U.S. team on its way to the championship ," said Simon Gleave, head of analytics at Gracenote.
The Vietnamese women's team will play against the US team at 8am on July 22 at Eden Park Stadium. The Vietnamese team has been in New Zealand since July 5. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will play two friendly matches against New Zealand and Spain to warm up for the 2023 World Cup campaign.
