Since the beginning of March, the gift market has been bustling and rich with many gentle gifts, following the minimalist criteria but expressing emotional meaning, that is a gift from the heart.

Fresh flower gift sets with food are on trend

This year’s gift market is said to be “hotter” and more urgent than previous years, because March 8th this year comes early, taking place right after Lunar New Year. Consumer shopping needs have new trends such as: Prioritizing green products or practical gifts for life.

Fresh flowers are always the first choice of men. That is why, in recent years, the market has created more combinations of flowers with other gifts such as food, cosmetics, etc., attracting many customers, bringing great profits to sellers.

This year, gift sets combining flowers and food such as fresh flowers with drinks, fresh flower and fruit baskets, and flower cakes are sought after by many people. The market also started very early, from the end of February. The price of a fresh flower - drink set ranges from 70,000 to 100,000 VND depending on the type of drink and the flower arrangement. Meanwhile, fresh flower - fruit baskets are sold for 600,000 to several million VND depending on the size of the basket and the type of fruit.

Ms. Bui Thuy Linh (25 years old, Cau Giay) said that she opened a shop selling fresh flower and drink sets for International Women's Day, March 8, at the end of February and earned a large profit even though the holiday had not yet arrived.

Fresh flower and drink set is sought after by many people

“I have sold drink sets with fresh flowers for two March 8 seasons. This year, the market started earlier and was more exciting than last year because Valentine's Day coincided with Lunar New Year, so the gift market was quite gloomy at that time. During this holiday, I received an average of more than 100 orders per day. On the actual day, the number of orders will probably explode even more,” said Linh.

Receiving positive signals like Ms. Linh, Mr. Nguyen The Long (25 years old, Ba Dinh) - owner of a fruit shop on Kim Ma street, also earned "huge" profits from orders of fresh flower and fruit baskets for March 8.

“I sell imported fruits, so I also collaborated with my sister who sells fresh flowers to create fresh flower and fruit baskets to serve people's needs during holidays. On this 8/3 occasion, I opened the shop to receive orders from around 2/25 and received a large number of orders. Up to this point, I have about 300 orders,” Long shared.

Fresh flower and fruit baskets are also "hot" this March 8th.

Mr. Nguyen Nhat Quang (50 years old, Thanh Xuan) said: “Women are actually very simple, expensive or valuable gifts do not make them happy. Sometimes just a rose can make them smile all day. So this year I decided to choose a gift that will make my women happy and 'warm their stomachs'. I ordered a basket of fresh flowers and fruit to give to my wife and a set of fresh flowers and a cup of mulberry tea - my 20-year-old daughter's favorite drink to give to her granddaughter.”

Online market continues to be vibrant

As in recent times, online shopping has become a trend as customers can browse and choose from a wide range of products without having to go directly to the store. On this 8/3 occasion, small traders have increased their “digital transformation” and brought their goods to the “online” market.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang, owner of a fresh flower shop on Nguyen Phong Sac Street (Cau Giay) takes photos and posts her products on local market groups and her personal Facebook. According to Ms. Giang, the number of customers coming to buy directly at the shop is not small, and will peak on the holiday, but she also does not want to ignore the "fertile land" of online shopping.

“For about 2 years now, on holidays, I post my flower designs on social networks to increase the number of orders. Many people who live far away also order my flowers for their loved ones, so I also earn a lot of profit from selling online. On this occasion, I started selling on the "online market" from the end of February, and also started selling special designs for March 8 directly at the store from that time. Currently, the number of online orders I receive is more than 100, while selling directly, I only receive about 20 orders for flower baskets,” said Ms. Giang.

Traders put their products on the "online market"

It is known that the fresh flowers Ms. Giang sells online range from 300,000 to 600,000 VND for bouquets; from 500,000 to several million VND for baskets, which is 50,000 to 100,000 VND higher than the price she sells directly at the store depending on the model. In addition, the shipping fee is calculated at a flat rate of 30,000 VND for deliveries within Hanoi and 50,000 VND for orders delivered to the outskirts of Hanoi.

Besides small traders, many social media users also take advantage of this opportunity to earn extra income, importing goods to sell during this holiday. Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao (26 years old, Hoang Mai) also took advantage of this March 8 occasion to import more wax flower models to sell on her personal Facebook to make a profit.

Many social media users also take advantage of importing goods to sell more.

“I started taking orders from around mid-February, then stopped taking orders to collect orders to deliver to customers around March 7. When customers place orders, I will ask for a deposit in advance. That way, customers will be sure to receive the goods or else they will lose their deposit. I also don’t have to spend a lot of capital to buy the goods in advance, so I’m not afraid of losing much,” Ms. Thao shared.

Ms. Thao said that the price of the wax flowers she sells ranges from 350,000 to 800,000 VND depending on the model. She also imports some special models with stuffed animals that look very eye-catching. This is also the best-selling model in Ms. Thao's online shop during previous holidays.
