On December 3, the Urban Management Department of Vung Tau City (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) said that there are currently 14 freshwater shower stations along the beach from Front Beach to Back Beach. Public toilets installed by the city for residents and tourists after swimming in the sea, they go to the toilets to shower with fresh water before returning home or to their accommodation. At the toilets there are signs prohibiting the use of soap, shampoo, and chemicals.
Urban officials of Ward Thang Tam, Vung Tau City remind people not to use shampoo or soap at public water fountains at Bai Sau beach.
On August 11, 2022, Vung Tau City also issued a document prohibiting the use of soap, shampoo, and chemicals at public water fountains. Accordingly, people who use soap or chemicals when bathing at public water fountains will be required to stop using the water fountains and will be administratively fined according to the provisions of Article 13 of Decree 155/2016/ND-CP dated November 18, 2016 of the Government.
At each freshwater shower station, the People's Committee of Vung Tau City has posted a red notice asking residents and tourists not to use soap, shampoo, or chemicals. However, according to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, every day after swimming at Bai Sau, many people go to the public freshwater shower station to use soap and shampoo, which looks very offensive.
Use soap freely even though there is a sign prohibiting it at the water fountain.
"Many people, after swimming in the sea, go to the public freshwater shower to get shampoo, soap, and conditioner to use. After washing their hair, they throw the bags away carelessly, which is very offensive," said Mr. Tran Quoc N. (residing in Thang Tam Ward, Vung Tau City).
Mr. T. (in Vung Tau City) said that every afternoon he and his son go to Bai Sau to bathe. "I see many locals and tourists using shampoo here, so I remind them. Many people do not pay attention to the prohibition notice, and when they see it, they stop using it. However, many people get annoyed when reminded," Mr. T. added.
After washing hair, leave the trash behind.
On December 3, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, a leader of Vung Tau City People's Committee said that the city and wards have repeatedly reminded beachgoers not to use soap or shampoo at public water fountains but have not yet administratively punished any cases.
"In the Back Beach area, there are many bathhouses serving tourists, with a fee, people can go in to bathe and wash their hair. As for the public freshwater fountains, there is no fee, people can only bathe in fresh water and cannot use soap or shampoo. In the coming time, the city and the People's Committees of the wards will impose administrative penalties if people go to the freshwater fountains and use soap or shampoo...", this leader said.
