Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said so on August 16 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year and deploy tasks for the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong informed that the ministry will soon issue regulations guiding admission to public grade 10 according to the new program.

In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training will soon issue guidelines and regulations for high school graduation exams and university admissions in 2025. The latest announcement is expected to be in November 2024.

According to Mr. Thuong, this will be the first time the ministry has announced early the regulations guiding high school graduation exams and university admissions because in previous years they were usually announced in February and March every year.

The reason is that in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole country is implementing the 2018 general education program and will hold entrance exams for grade 10, excellent student exams at all levels, high school graduation exams and university admissions according to the 2018 program.

The Ministry issued the above regulations and guidelines to give students experience in testing, evaluation, and mock exams according to the new exam method so that students are not surprised. And even administrators and teachers are not surprised by this exam method.

Mr. Thuong also requested that teachers in the teaching process this school year according to the 2018 program need to proactively conduct tests and assessments according to the requirements of the ministry.

The 2018 general education program will start from the 2020-2021 school year and by the 2024-2025 school year, all levels of general education will be implementing the 2018 general education program. This is also the first year that students across the country will take the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam according to the 2018 general education program.

Similarly, students nationwide who take the 10th grade entrance exam will also take the exam according to the new 2018 program.
