SCIC auctions off entire Savina shares with starting value of over 106 billion

The volume of shares put up for auction is 6.79 million shares, equivalent to 100% of the shares SCIC currently owns and 10% of Savina's charter capital. The starting price is 15,700 VND/share, corresponding to the starting value for 6.79 million shares being over 106 billion VND.

According to HNX, the offering of Savina shares held by SCIC is part of SCIC's investment portfolio restructuring plan and only changes the shareholder structure, not the company's registered charter capital.

The volume of shares put up for auction is 6.79 million shares, equivalent to 100% of the shares SCIC currently owns and 10% of Savina's charter capital. The starting price is VND15,700/share.

Savina, formerly the National Printing House, was established on October 10, 1952, marking the birth of the Vietnamese book publishing industry.

In 2016, Savina conducted an initial public offering (IPO) to equitize, successfully auctioning 16.5 million shares at HNX with an average price of VND 13,072/share, converting into Vietnam Book Joint Stock Company.

Currently, Savina's actual charter capital is 679 billion VND, the company's shares are being traded on the UPCoM floor with the stock code VNB, the closing price on March 21 was 13,800 VND/share.

Operating in the field of publishing, printing and trading books, newspapers and cultural products, Savina's net revenue mainly comes from book distribution and office leasing, achieving strong growth, from VND 23.14 billion in 2021 to VND 33.7 billion in 2022, equivalent to an increase of 45.64%. Financial revenue in 2022 is VND 62.72 billion, an increase of 12.37% compared to 2021.

Savina's business performance up to the end of the third quarter of 2023 increased slightly compared to the same period in 2022. Net revenue from book publishing and office leasing activities reached more than VND 25.17 billion. Profit after tax reached more than VND 50.61 billion. Total assets recorded a slight increase from VND 927.74 billion in 2021 to VND 1,034.92 billion by the end of the third quarter of 2023.

Savina is leasing and managing many prime locations in Hanoi, including: 44 Trang Tien, 50A Hang Bai, 22A and 22B Hai Ba Trung (Hoan Kiem District); 2 Dich Vong (Cau Giay District); Viet Hung Commune (Dong Anh District) with a total area of ​​up to 14,082 m2 of land for office and business stores.

In particular, the house and land lease contracts at the plots of land and assets on the land at No. 22A and 22B Hai Ba Trung, No. 50A Hang Bai have expired by the end of 2023 and are being renewed by Savina with state management agencies.
