On May 27, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc received Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper Le The Chu. Also attending were representatives of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO, the Department of Northeast Asia, the Department of Press Information and the World and Vietnam Newspaper.

Appreciating the coordination between Tuoi Tre newspaper and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in foreign information work, Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc emphasized, "it is a companionship and sharing with the diplomatic sector".

Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper Le The Chu expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting the Newspaper in the past time. in foreign information work as well as organizing events abroad, especially the annual Pho Day program. In 2023, for the first time, Tuoi Tre newspaper coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to organize the Vietnam Pho Festival at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, Japan.

Bringing pho "overseas" not only helps promote the image of the country, culture and people of Vietnam, but also contributes to promoting cultural ties and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Following the success of Pho Day in the Land of the Rising Sun, this year, the Pho Day program will be held in Korea next fall.

Editor-in-Chief Le The Chu hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to support the connection of Korean agencies, Korea-Vietnam and Vietnam-Korea friendship associations and related organizations in Korea in the process of selecting locations and planning to organize the program.

Leaders of Tuoi Tre newspaper believe that Pho Day 2024 will leave a deep impression on Korean people, international friends, and Vietnamese people living in the country, and at the same time contribute to the construction of a dossier to submit to UNESCO to recognize Pho as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc highly appreciated the idea of ​​organizing Pho Day in Korea by Tuoi Tre newspaper and said that bringing Pho to international friends not only aims to promote Vietnam's typical dish but also sends a message about the quintessence of Vietnamese culture and people.

Nowadays, Vietnamese cuisine is becoming more and more famous and has a certain coverage all over the world. In many countries, it is not difficult to find a Vietnamese restaurant and pho is often one of the most popular dishes.

In particular, Vietnamese cuisine is not only present in daily life but also participates in diplomatic activities, is a "soft power" that contributes to positioning the value and influence of Vietnam in the international arena.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant units, and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will closely coordinate with Tuoi Tre newspaper in organizing the program.

After 7 years of being held domestically, Pho Day has "gone abroad" with the first destination being Japan in 2023.

2024 will be the second time Vietnamese pho will "go abroad" and the destination will be South Korea - a country with many similarities to Vietnam in culinary culture. More than 4 million South Korean tourists visited Vietnam in the first 4 months of this year.

The Pho Day program is organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and businesses.
