On July 31, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee announced that it had approved the results of the architectural and landscape design competition for the Truong Sa Museum project.

According to the winning plan, Truong Sa Museum is about 1.71 hectares wide, located on a high hill facing the sea in the west, bordering the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Area, Cam Lam district.
Regarding the idea of the shape, the overall architectural shape of the building with 3 branches reaching out strongly towards the vast ocean, expressing the aspiration to master the sea and islands - the sacred territory of the fatherland.
Huni Architectes said that the inspiration for the design of the project came from the Gac Ma memorial area, where the underground space with 64 flowers symbolizes the soldiers who sacrificed for the country. The passionate streams flowing from the motherland, rising up symbolize the indomitable spirit of the people of Khanh Hoa, the people of Vietnam.
It is that flow that has shaped the main shape of the project, creating three main views towards Gac Ma island, towards Truong Sa island and towards the East Sea.

Inside the museum, the arrangement of the atriums gradually increases in height combined with the sudden narrowing and expansion of the exhibition space to lead the emotional journey of the tour, creating a visual impression for visitors and a perception of depth. The atrium positions are designed with an open view towards the sea, allowing the eyes to fully admire the vast nature.
The organization and design of separate exhibition spaces corresponding to each type of theme, suitable for the content and characteristics of each type of artifact. Combined with lighting effects and modern display and projection technologies, it creates an attractive museum space, increasing interaction and friendliness for visitors.

Regarding the landscape concept, the design respects the existing elements to the maximum, using native plants suitable for the climate and soil conditions. The overall project is like a flow, seamlessly connecting the spiritual values and architectural and landscape space of the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial.
The journey through the spaces is the journey for visitors to experience cultural and historical values, so that the museum is not just an inanimate structure built from bricks and stones, but a "living witness" containing the spirit and soul of Truong Sa.

The Truong Sa Museum project will be invested by the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, with construction funding from socialized sources, and is expected to start construction at the end of 2024. This project belongs to phase 2 of the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Project (in operation since 2017) built by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a total investment of nearly 130 billion VND.
In a recent meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, assessed the Truong Sa Museum as a cultural, historical, spiritual project and closely associated with the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial. The project was built to have an additional place to visit, learn about culture and history to contribute to educating traditions, raising awareness of sea and island sovereignty for generations and classes of people.
