A week before the Lunar New Year 2025, Sa Dec flower village (Dong Thap), the largest in the West, is filled with spring atmosphere. Farmers are excited because they sold out their products early, and tourists from near and far are flocking to visit and take photos.

On the eve of the Lunar New Year 2025, Sa Dec flower village becomes bustling and colorful with blooming flowers.

This year, the chrysanthemums bloomed on time, with beautiful colors, and were ordered early by traders. Chrysanthemums take the longest time to grow among Tet flowers and require high investment costs and techniques.

In the last days of the year of the Dragon, Mr. Huynh Van Thanh (Tan Khanh Dong Commune, Sa Dec City) was busy transporting flowers to deliver to customers. Many people from other provinces came to the fields to directly choose flowers.

To prepare for Tet, Mr. Thanh planted 3,000 pots of yellow chrysanthemums, of which traders in Hanoi ordered more than 2,000 pots. The selling price of each pot of traditional yellow chrysanthemums ranges from 150,000-200,000 VND/pair.

The best time of day to admire and take photos at the flower village is 6-8am and 4-5pm, when the sunlight is not too harsh.

The village currently has 4,000 production households, 190 business households, 17 cooperatives and cooperative groups. The value of ornamental flower production here reaches 3,300 billion VND. According to the Economic Department of Sa Dec City, the flower village is expected to bring to the market about 2 million flower baskets and ornamental plants this Tet.

Normally, Sa Dec flowers are exported early to supply the Central provinces and Hanoi, while the Western provinces are about 3-4 days later. Mr. Vu (Hai Manh chrysanthemum garden) transports flowers from the trellis to the truck to prepare for export to Hanoi.

People put their successful products after many months of cultivation and care onto trucks to bring to provinces and cities.

Besides the traditional yellow color, multi-colored chrysanthemums such as red, purple... are also quite popular. Each pot of multi-colored chrysanthemums has a wholesale price of 130,000-150,000 VND.

Ms. Thu Thao (Lai Vung district) was very pleased to have chosen many beautiful flower pots. “Last year, my house only displayed yellow flowers. This year, I chose many new colors to make the Tet atmosphere more vibrant,” she said.

The flower pots are carefully packaged for long-distance transportation. Mr. Trinh Ngoc Dung (Binh Phuoc) traveled more than 200km to Dong Thap to buy flowers to sell for Tet. "This year I bought chrysanthemums and Dutch chrysanthemums because the prices are reasonable, the flowers bloom evenly and beautifully," he shared.

Flowers serving the Tet market such as marigolds and cockscombs have also bloomed, ready to welcome the new year.

The image of beds of raspberry daisies on high trellises attracts the interest and attention of tourists, especially photography enthusiasts.

As one of the early spring visitors, Ms. Thu Ngan (HCMC) and her family were extremely excited with the space filled with "Tet colors" in Sa Dec flower village.

Since December 20, the Tet atmosphere has filled the Sa Dec flower village. Some gardeners often leave a few flowers for tourists to visit and take photos during Tet.
