Sa Pa National Tourist Area (Lao Cai Province) is oriented to develop into an international-class national resort tourism center, with modern and synchronous infrastructure and services. The local tourism product system is gradually being built to be diverse, unique, rich and of high quality.

Ms. Hoang Thi Vuong - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Sa Pa town said: "We are consulting on the development of souvenir products and commodity products based on traditional handicrafts of local ethnic communities. Currently, we are proposing to support and preserve 5 basic groups and industries to serve tourists. Hopefully, when this support activity is completed, tourists coming to Sa Pa will have more new experiences and they will also have more choices."
In order to promote, support, and enhance the experience for tourists while exploring tourist destinations, Sa Pa town has been applying many technology solutions. Currently, Sa Pa town is applying a smart control center management system, including 360 virtual reality software and Sa Pa tour app tourism software. These are software that help manage, look up, and provide information about tourism activities and services in the area in a complete and accurate manner.

Recently, the British travel publisher Rough Guides announced the Top 10 most attractive destinations in Southeast Asia, in which, Sa Pa ranked 6th in this ranking. Along with that are a series of praises for Sa Pa from prestigious domestic and foreign websites and experts. That shows that Sa Pa can completely become an international tourist destination.

In order to develop Sa Pa into a modern national tourist area, reaching international standards, in recent times, Lao Cai province has focused on directing the synchronous implementation of the Master Plan for the construction of Sa Pa National Tourist Area - Sa Pa town until 2040, as approved by the Prime Minister. Along with that, priority is given to investing in developing transport infrastructure, tourism infrastructure connecting localities with Sa Pa and tourism sub-areas. Regarding the development orientation of Sa Pa tourism, Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration stated: "In order for Sa Pa to develop to its full potential as a national tourist area of international stature, a destination worth living, worth visiting, worth experiencing, it is clear that Sa Pa needs to continue to affirm itself as a destination with unique and sustainable tourism products. The development orientation for the Sa Pa national tourist area is based on sustainable development and must take the human factor and indigenous culture as the foundation, to create high-quality tourism products, so that visitors can have a deep experience and stay in Sa Pa longer". To achieve the goal of becoming a key national tourist area of international stature by 2025, all levels, sectors and people of Sa Pa have clearly recognized their roles and responsibilities in exploiting and developing tourism in a sustainable direction, with unique culture associated with preserving the ecological environment.
