EOV 2023 is directed by Ambassador Ngo Quang Xuan, former Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Nations, under the auspices of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Association and the accompaniment of IELTS VIETNAM (IVN). Not just a regular competition, EOV 2023 is also a journey of inspiration about language and social responsibility.
Inspired and copyrighted from the English Olympics Global Competition in London, UK, EOV 2023 has ignited the passion and desire to learn English for young people from different levels of education. Through the competition, it is an opportunity for young Vietnamese people to promote, be proud of, and bring the image, beauty of culture, people and country of Vietnam to the international community.
At the recently held EOV 2023 Competition Launch Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Director of the Vietnam Institute for Applied Science and Technology, Head of the EOV Competition Organizing Committee, affirmed that the Competition revolved around the theme of Global Citizens with Social Responsibility , opening up a space for students to express their personal views on their responsibilities to the community and society. This is not only about practicing language but also about nurturing a sense of responsibility and social awareness for future generations.
According to Mr. Hien, with the integration of the global economy and the strong explosion of the Internet, mastering foreign languages, especially English, has created a "golden opportunity" to help the young generation of Vietnam expand their knowledge and become global citizens. This is also one of the core meanings of the English Olympics of Vietnam 2023 Competition.
The EOV 2023 Northern Regional Finals with the participation of prestigious and quality judges from leading universities was held on December 17, attracting the participation of a large number of young people to compete.
