Rainer Honeck has performed solo at famous theaters in Europe, the US, Japan... He is also an excellent chamber musician, appearing in many studio and radio recordings, and has performed with famous artists such as Jessye Norman, Kathleen Battle, Angelika Kirchschlager, Jose Carreras, Andre Previn, Yuri Bashmet and Yefim Bronfman...
In recent years, Rainer Honeck has performed many times as a conductor, with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden; the Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra and Kioi Sinfonietta (Japan); the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra in St. Petersburg (Russia)…
In the upcoming program in Hanoi, artist Rainer Honeck and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji, will perform the works: "Verklärte Nacht" Op.4 (A.Schonberg), "Violin Concerto Vietnam Premiere" (to the memory of an angel) and Violin Concerto "Memory of an angel" (Alban Berg), "The Blue Danube" (Strauss II).
During the concert, the Violin Concerto Memory of an Angel will also be performed for the first time in Vietnam. The work was written by Alban Berg in 1935 for Manon Gropius - daughter of Alma Mahler (widow of composer Gustav Mahler) - after she had just died of polio. This is probably Alban Berg's most famous and most frequently performed work.
