Speaking here, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet congratulated author Stéphanie Do on releasing the book Road to the National Assembly by the first female French parliamentarian of Vietnamese origin in Vietnam.

Appreciating the talent and determination of the French author of Vietnamese origin, the Ambassador believes that as a member of the French National Assembly and President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, she will contribute to the good friendship between the two countries.

At the event, author Stéphanie Do shared her feelings and efforts when French politics became a turning point in her life.

Speakers and attendees also expressed their love and admiration for her will to succeed.

In particular, the event is even more meaningful when it is held on Vietnamese Women's Day October 20, contributing to inspiring women on the path to building their own careers.

The book by author Stéphanie Do is divided into 6 chapters and is honored to have an introduction written by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The first chapter introduces the author's family and ancestors. Chapters 2 and 3 are about the journey to France as well as the desire to study to change life, the difficulties, obstacles and achievements through school.

Chapters 4 and 5 are the journey to conquer the path of civil service and enter the campaign to become a Member of Parliament. Chapter 6 tells the story of becoming a Member of Parliament from nomination to election and talks about the greatest source of motivation for Member of Parliament Stéphanie Do.

Born in Vietnam and coming to France at the age of 11, Stéphanie Do became a member of the National Assembly of France's 68 million citizens.

According to French President Emmanuel Macron, she achieved this position thanks to her tenacity, desire to succeed and dedication to others.

“Nothing could shake her determination, a determination that helped her defy all predictions,” wrote Emmanuel Macron. “Not even the pain of leaving her homeland to settle in France, wandering from one refugee camp to another with her family. Not even the material hardships she faced, along with her three brothers, her mother, a merchant, and her father, a mathematics professor with a degree from Vietnam that was not recognized in France.

Her parents had to leave everything behind in Vietnam to continue their journey in search of a brighter future for their children. Stéphanie Do has proven herself worthy of this expectation. She has seized every opportunity that France has offered her and has repaid France a hundredfold."

When reading The Road to the National Assembly by the first French female parliamentarian of Vietnamese origin, readers will receive the answer to the question: "How did I get elected as a National Assembly delegate?" and the message: "Come with me into the realm imbued with will, perseverance, hard work and full of challenges."
