On the morning of June 28, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Writers Association, writer and diplomat Nguyen Chien Thang held a meeting to introduce the book "Stories of an Ambassador".

The book is the author's confidences, stories he encountered and remembered during his years as an ambassador in various countries. The stories help readers understand the life, career, and role of an ambassador - a person who represents the country and people in foreign affairs.

The book launch of 'The Tale of an Ambassador' was attended by famous writers, diplomats and book lovers. What is special is that although it is a book by a politician, it has little political color, but is full of colors, cultural space, humanity, respectable, lovable and admirable portraits.

Sharing about the book, author Nguyen Chien Thang affirmed: "The stories told in the book only contain notes about memories and recollections and do not contain conclusions in diplomatic work."

Talking about the content of the book "The Tale of an Ambassador", Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, commented that these are truly fascinating stories. If we do not read this book, we cannot know about a part of life that is taking place in an attractive, important, and meaningful way in the history of Vietnam's diplomatic relations and developments in the world.
The stories are simple, sophisticated and always contain many interesting things. The way the Diplomat tells the story is sophisticated and discreet, but full of inspiration and poetry. With a realistic, sophisticated, attractive and profound way of telling the story, although the book contains political issues, it is transformed into a literary style, so it feels light and easy to attract.

The book is jointly published by the Writers Association Publishing House and Lien Viet Culture & Communication Company. Along with 2,000 regular copies, there are also 100 special copies printed on fine art paper and 12 illustrations drawn by artist Pham Hai Ha. This is considered a gift from the author to readers who have always loved him, from the novels and short stories under the pen name Thang Sac.
Author Nguyen Chien Thang devoted his entire life to diplomacy. He served as ambassador to France, Algeria and Cambodia. In literature, writer Nguyen Chien Thang writes novels, short stories, notes, and memoirs. His novels (written under the pen name Thang Sac) include: Ngu Cu, Chu Tu, Who Are You, Lang Gieng,... and many other literary works. He has a number of novels and short stories that have been adapted into movies and television series. |
