Continuing the program of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of May 24, the National Assembly discussed in the hall a number of contents with different opinions of the draft Law on Archives (amended).
At the beginning of the session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh expressed his sadness at the news of a fire at house number 1, alley 43/98/31, Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district (Hanoi) last night, causing extremely serious consequences, with initial figures showing 14 people dead and several injured.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh emphasized that the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee would like to express their deepest condolences to the families of the victims; at the same time, request the Ministry of Public Security, the Hanoi People's Committee and the forces to quickly overcome the consequences, give priority to timely treatment of the injured, help the families of the victims to stabilize the situation soon, and ensure their lives; request the Government, relevant agencies and forces to strengthen fire prevention and fighting work nationwide, provide guidance and widely disseminate information on mass media so that people can raise their vigilance, respond promptly, and prevent fires and explosions.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh informed that early this morning, the National Assembly Standing Committee organized a working delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong to visit the scene and the hospital to visit and encourage the families of the victims, the medical team and the rescue force at the facility.
As reported by the press, at around 0:30 on May 24, a large fire broke out at a boarding house in alley 98, lane 119, Trung Kinh street (Cau Giay district, Hanoi). The fire quickly spread violently, accompanied by several loud explosions. The fire occurred at a 5-storey boarding house, each floor had two rooms, the first floor was for electric bicycle business and electric bicycle repair.
Upon receiving information about the fire, Cau Giay District Police mobilized many vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to search and rescue. Hanoi City Police also quickly sent dozens of vehicles to support. Ambulance 115 was also on duty on Trung Kinh Street to quickly take the victims to the emergency room. After efforts to put out the fire, the fire was extinguished at about 1:00 a.m. on May 24./.
