This afternoon, October 25, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a direct and online meeting with central ministries, branches and coastal localities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan on response to storm No. 6 (storm TRAMI). Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and Le Duc Tien attended at the Quang Tri bridge.
Storm No. 6 is forecast to be strong, with very complex developments. Its direction of movement and wind level may change due to the impact of many weather patterns at sea.
To proactively respond to storm No. 6, central ministries, branches and localities are urgently implementing Official Dispatch No. 110/CD-TTg dated October 24, 2024 of the Prime Minister and Official Dispatches of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on response to storm No. 6.

In Quang Tri, as of the afternoon of October 25, 2,614 boats with 6,152 crew members had entered safe anchorage to avoid the storm; 49 boats from other provinces were anchored in the province with 316 crew members. Reservoirs in the province are operating safely; there are currently 7 dike and embankment projects under construction. The Provincial People's Committee has directed investors to review and update disaster prevention plans to ensure the safety of the projects during the rainy and stormy season. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has issued Official Dispatch No. 07/CD-UBND on proactively responding to storm No. 6 and floods.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized: Quang Tri Province has proactively planned to deploy response steps before, during and after storm No. 6 with the motto "4 on-site". Organize calls, information, and instructions for ships, boats, and vehicles still operating at sea and along the coast to know, proactively escape from dangerous areas or return to safe shelters; take measures to ensure safety for ships and boats at anchorage areas, especially in the area of Con Co island district.
Continue to inspect and secure houses and boats of people in coastal districts, ensuring maximum safety for people's lives and property against storms. Proactively arrange forces and support vehicles, prepare plans to evacuate people, stockpile food, essential supplies... in areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides... absolutely do not be subjective in the face of natural disasters.
In his concluding remarks, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan emphasized that in order to cope with storm No. 6, ministries, branches and localities proactively proposed response situations and scenarios to limit damage to property and people's lives.
Localities review and implement measures to ensure safety for tourism, aquaculture and seafood exploitation activities at sea; resolutely evacuate people on rafts and aquaculture watchtowers to safe places. At the same time, closely monitor the situation, proactively direct and effectively implement storm and flood prevention and control work according to assigned tasks and authority; ensure the safety of dykes, dams, etc. against natural disasters and storms.

The press, meteorological and hydrological agencies, and the Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue regularly update accurate and timely information related to storm No. 6 for people to grasp.
Activate disaster response scenarios according to actual situations; localities, agencies and units organize and assign on-duty staff according to their functions and tasks to respond to storms; prepare forces and means to respond to risks of floods and landslides before, during and after storms, minimize damage to property and human lives before storms, and absolutely do not allow subjectivity or negligence in the face of natural disasters.
The authorities, army and police are ready with plans and scenarios for rescue of people; if necessary, they can forcibly evacuate people to safe storm shelters, not allowing people to stay in areas where boats are moored, places that are seriously affected by storms.
Strictly implement plans for operation, ensuring safety of dams, dykes, and works under construction; arrange forces, warn, guide traffic, rescue and relief in areas along rivers, streams, underground, spillways, areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides; have safety plans for traffic routes, floating works on rivers; deploy measures to protect agricultural production, ensure aquatic product safety... against the impact of storm No. 6.
