Quang Tri relocates provincial bus station to implement 2,000 billion VND coastal road project

Acting Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong said he has just signed a decision approving the results of the appraisal of the environmental impact assessment report of the project to build the Provincial Bus Station Management Center and Dong Ha Bus Station at a new location, serving the site clearance for the construction of the Coastal Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, Quang Tri province, phase 1.

Accordingly, the scope of construction of the Provincial Bus Station Management Center and Dong Ha Bus Station at the new location is carried out in Dong Luong Ward, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province. The new bus station has a total planned construction area of 50,000 m2. Of which, phase 1 has an area of 18,738 m2.

The project includes architectural items, items such as: Office building, Management Board and Provincial Bus Station Management Center, traffic roads, driver registration area, driver registration waiting area, passenger drop-off area, overnight bus waiting area, toilets... Along with that are auxiliary items such as 220 KV electrical system, grounding lightning protection system, network system.

In an interview with reporters, Mr. Tran Huu Hung, Director of the Quang Tri Department of Construction, informed that the project to build the Provincial Bus Station Management Center and Dong Ha Bus Station at the new location will be assigned to the Quang Tri Provincial Bus Station Management Center (under the Department of Construction after the merger) as the investor with a total investment of about 53 billion VND. The project is located at the intersection between Thuan Chau Street and the Eastern bypass of Dong Ha City.

It is known that the Provincial Bus Station Management Center and Dong Ha Bus Station are currently located on the land next to National Highway 1 at 425 Le Duan, Dong Le Ward, Dong Ha City. This is the end point of the Coastal Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, Quang Tri Province, Phase 1, which is currently under construction.

The coastal road project connecting the East-West economic corridor, Quang Tri province, phase 1 has a total investment of more than 2,060 billion VND from the central budget and the provincial budget. The project is invested by the Quang Tri Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

In phase 1, the project has a total length of more than 54.9 km. Of which, the investment phase of phase 1 is 48.2 km, including 2 sections. Section 1 is more than 42 km long, starting at the border of Quang Binh - Quang Tri province, ending at Km 42+162 (south of Cua Viet bridge). This section in phase 1 is invested with a length of more than 36 km, the section through Cua Tung bridge area and the section through Cua Viet bridge area have not been invested.

Section 2 is more than 12.2 km long, the starting point connects with the axis road along the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, the end point connects with National Highway 1, section Km759 through Dong Ha City.

This project started on April 29, 2022 and contractors are currently constructing many sections of the phase 1 project.
