In the first 9 months of 2024, the industrial production index increased by 15.7% over the same period last year. The most prominent were the processing and manufacturing industry, which increased by 17.4%; the water supply and waste treatment industry, which increased by 10.4%.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the whole province had many industrial products that grew compared to the same period last year, including construction stone reaching 214.9 thousand tons (up 50.7%); tire cord fabric reaching 45.8 million square meters (up 73.8%); occupational clothing reaching 4,404 thousand pieces (up 536.7%); wood shavings and chips reaching more than 499.4 thousand tons (up 27.8%); burnt clay construction bricks reaching an estimated 89.5 million pieces (up 34.4%); passenger cars reaching 44.7 thousand units (up 23.7%); trucks 10.6 thousand units (up 21.6%)...

Some industrial products decreased compared to the same period last year, including fresh water down 0.4%; coal down 9.4%; electricity production down 3.3%; aquatic feed down 17.6%; sports shoes and sandals down 6.6%; prefabricated metal house components down 12.1%...

Mr. Le Vu Thuong said that in the last months of the year, the Department of Industry and Trade focused on advising the Provincial People's Committee to select a consulting unit to develop a project to develop an industrial center for deep processing of silica products in the province. Along with that, it advised the Provincial People's Committee to propose to the Prime Minister a number of outstanding mechanisms for the pilot project on the mechanism to encourage cooperation and linkage in production according to clusters of supporting industries and mechanical industries in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
