Sending an online message to the event, Mr. Sandiaga Uno - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia highly appreciated the potential for tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia, and emphasized that the tourism connection programs this time will contribute to spreading the image of Indonesian tourism to the Vietnamese market, thereby attracting more Vietnamese tourists to Indonesia.

According to Mr. Denny Abdi - Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia has not yet fully exploited its potential, because the population of the two countries ranks first in Southeast Asia and each country welcomes millions of foreign visitors each year. The tourism industry of the two countries needs to increase connections and strongly promote destinations such as Da Nang, Ha Long, Sa Pa, Phu Quoc of Vietnam; and Danau Toba, Candi Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo or Likupang of Indonesia.

On this occasion, Indonesia introduced many new destinations and tourism products to attract Vietnamese tourists. Mr. Paul Edmundus - Chairman of the Indonesian Inbound Travel Association (IINTOA) said that in addition to the "resort paradise" Bali, other destinations such as Yogyakarta or Jakarta are now easily accessible from Vietnam: "Vietnam is a very important market for the Indonesian tourism industry. We have designed new products for Vietnamese tourists to increase their experiences and expand their journey when coming to Indonesia, such as Lombok - an ideal destination for a honeymoon only 25 minutes away from Bali, or Komodo Island, about 1 hour flight from Bali. In particular, the Komodo Island tour will take tourists to witness and learn about the life of the famous Komodo dragon."

On the Vietnamese side, Mr. Truong Quoc Hung - Chairman of the UNESCO Travel Club Hanoi believes that destinations in Indonesia will continue to attract Vietnamese tourists: "After the Covid-19 pandemic was controlled, member businesses of the UNESCO Travel Club recorded a lot of customers buying foreign tours, including Bali in Indonesia. With the strong recovery of outbound tourism in Vietnam in recent times, Indonesia will continue to be a destination chosen by many Vietnamese tourists."

Vietnamese businesses also expect Indonesian travel agencies to actively bring tourists to Vietnam. Mr. Phung Xuan Khanh - Director of Tien Phong Travel Company said: "Vietnam and Indonesia are strongly developing direct flights, combined with a flexible visa policy, which is a favorable condition to attract Indonesian tourists. Currently, there is a direct flight from Indonesia to Hanoi, opening up opportunities for Indonesian tourists to access many destinations such as Sa Pa, Ha Long... Unlike a hot country like Indonesia, the North of Vietnam has a diverse 4-season climate and many cool destinations, promising to attract and retain Indonesian tourists".

VOV.VN - Under pressure from public opinion, the Indonesian government has decided to temporarily suspend plans to increase ticket prices to visit Komodo National Park, home to the endangered Komodo dragon in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara province.
