On the afternoon of March 26, in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to honor Outstanding Young Faces and Promising Young Faces of the entire army in 2023 to honor young people with outstanding achievements in various fields of the Army.

Attending the ceremony were General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Director of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth Bui Quang Huy; representatives of leaders of agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and representatives of a number of ministries, branches and central agencies.
Outstanding young faces, promising young faces of the whole army are titles voted and honored annually. This is a noble award for cadres, union members, and youths with outstanding and outstanding achievements in fields of work such as: Training, combat readiness and combat; study, scientific research; labor, production and business; culture, literature, arts, journalism; sports... and other fields.

General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, delivered a speech at the commendation ceremony.
The commendation program aims to recognize, encourage, motivate and honor typical and advanced examples of the Army's youth; create motivation for cadres, union members and young people to constantly strive, contribute and mature, contributing their youth to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; demonstrate the attention of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, leaders and commanders of agencies and units to the cause of educating and nurturing the young generation in the Army; contribute to building a clean and strong Party organization, a comprehensively strong agency and unit that is "exemplary", a strong Youth Union organization in terms of politics, ideology, organization and cadres.
The 10 outstanding young faces and 35 promising young faces of the entire army voted this time are the most outstanding examples, representing hundreds of thousands of union members and young people in the entire army in the fields of training, combat readiness and combat; study, scientific research; labor, production and business; culture, literature, arts, journalism; sports... Among them, one individual was voted as Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face and two individuals as Promising Young Vietnamese Faces of 2023.
In recognition of the efforts of the 10 Outstanding Young Faces of the Army in 2023, the Minister of National Defense decided to recruit officers, confer officer ranks on one individual; promote two individuals ahead of schedule; and raise salaries ahead of schedule for one individual. The General Department of Politics has directed agencies and units to reserve achievements as a basis for considering early promotion of four officers; raising salaries for one professional soldier; and prioritizing work assignments upon graduation for one student.

Along with that, the Minister of National Defense decided to award Certificates of Merit to 10 Outstanding Young Faces, and the Director of the General Department of Politics awarded Certificates of Merit to 35 Promising Young Faces of the entire army in 2023.
To promote the important role of youth and Youth Union work in the Army, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense require Party committees, political commissars, political officers, and commanders of political agencies at all levels to continue to pay attention to leading, directing, and effectively organizing the implementation of Youth Union work and youth movements; to deeply perceive that Youth Union work and youth movements are an important leadership content of Party committees at all levels. At the same time, agencies and units must take care to properly resolve the legitimate aspirations of Youth Union cadres, union members, and youth; to effectively organize the planning, training, and fostering of Youth Union cadres and cadres in charge of youth work to supplement the source of young cadres in the army.

General Luong Cuong requested agencies and units throughout the army to direct and organize youth revolutionary action movements well, creating an environment for cadres, union members and youth to practice in practice, contributing to the excellent completion of political tasks of each agency and unit.
"It is necessary to innovate the content and form of activities in a focused and key direction, concentrating on difficult and complicated tasks, weak links and weak aspects; replicate good models, good and creative ways of doing things, and typical advanced examples in all fields of work, creating a spread and setting an example in agencies, units and the entire army," General Luong Cuong emphasized.
Along with innovating forms and methods to improve the quality and effectiveness of Youth Union activities in accordance with the psychology of young people, General Luong Cuong noted that Youth Union organizations at all levels in the Army need to promote proactiveness, creativity, independence, and self-management.
Agencies and units shall direct the improvement of the quality and effectiveness of coordination with local Youth Union organizations in the stationed areas; perform well the mass mobilization work, build political bases, consolidate national defense and security, develop the economy, culture and society, prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, contribute to building the close-knit solidarity between the army and the people, consolidate the solid people's position; actively participate in military foreign affairs, contribute to effectively implementing the Army's international integration policies and guidelines./.
