TEMPO. Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto discussed accelerating negotiations on the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement ( IEU-CEPA ) with the European Parliament's International Trade Committee (INTA).
PTI. US memory chip maker Micron will invest $825 million in a new chip assembly and testing plant in Gujarat, India - Micron's first plant in the South Asian country.
INDIAN EXPRESS. Indian police are investigating a suspected fraudster who stayed for nearly two years in a five-star hotel without paying after it emerged he bribed staff to tamper with the books.
YONHAP. South Korea will invest 145 trillion won ($112.38 billion) to boost its climate technology industry by 2030 and step up support measures to achieve 100 trillion won in exports.
YONHAP. Representatives of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration of Korea and the NATO Aviation Committee signed an agreement to start the process of certifying military aircraft produced by both sides as safe to fly.
KYODO. Japan's education ministry plans to implement new guidelines that will allow elementary, junior high and high schools to make limited use of generative artificial intelligence (AI), such as ChatGPT.
Al MONITOR. In a raid supported by Saudi Arabia, Oman seized 6 million Captagon pills and dismantled a smuggling network.
WAM. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian visited the UAE, after visiting Qatar, Kuwait and Oman, in a bid to restore ties with Arab countries that are also seeking to improve ties with Tehran.

TELESUR. Brazilian President Lula da Silva met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome, discussing bilateral economic cooperation and the conflict in Ukraine.
EIU. Austria's capital Vienna continues to be named the world's most livable city in the annual report of the Economist Intelligence Unit's economic research agency.
BBC. The Bank of England (BoE) unexpectedly raised interest rates by 0.5 percentage points after receiving information that UK inflation would fall more slowly.
GUARDIAN. British police have arrested a foreign man suspected of being the ringleader of a network that helped thousands of people illegally cross the border from North Africa to Italy.
NPR. At least 39 migrants drowned when their dinghy sank in the Atlantic Ocean off Spain's Canary Islands.
DW. The German antitrust authority will ban some of the alleged unfair competition practices of the US corporation Google, including the bundling of its Maps application with other services of car manufacturers.
KYODO. Japan is increasing the number of staff at its embassy in Ukraine to cope with the growing workload to support the Eastern European country.
SWISS INFO. Switzerland will stop exporting military equipment to a German company that illegally supplied armored vehicles to Ukraine.
UKRINFORM. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law banning the commercial import of printed books from Russia, the latest move to narrow cultural ties between the two countries following the conflict in Ukraine.
INTERFAX. Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi arrived in Russia today to discuss the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is currently under Russian control.
TASS. Russia and Qatar are working on joint projects worth more than 160 billion rubles ($1.9 billion), Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thaini.

AP. Speaking at a reception for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House, US President Joe Biden affirmed that the two democracies can attract investment as real and trustworthy partners.

REUTES. The United States has suspended negotiations on the conflict in Sudan because the current format is not working the way the United States wants, according to US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly Phee.
CNN. The US State Department announced a new policy that will restrict visas for foreign government officials and employees who assist people involved in criminal acts in evading the US justice system.
CNBC. By allowing the sale of chicken grown directly from animal cells, the US has become the second country in the world (after Singapore) to allow the sale of lab-grown meat to consumers.
CBC. Canada Bread admitted to price-fixing violations and agreed to pay a $50 million CAD ($38 million USD) fine - the largest penalty ever imposed by a Canadian court for price-fixing.

NEWS24. The South African Presidency is warning citizens about online scam messages impersonating President Cyril Ramaphosa asking for donations.
AFRICA NEWS. Seven people were killed in two separate incidents when vehicles struck explosive devices in north-eastern Kenya, with police suspecting one was carried out by members of the Al Qaeda-linked jihadist group Al Shabaab.
ZAWYA. The World Bank (WB) has agreed to provide a loan worth 268.4 million USD to Tunisia to finance the AIMAD electricity interconnection project with Italy, which will connect energy networks between Tunisia and Europe.
EGYPT NEWS. The Egyptian government has approved a draft law to eliminate tax exemptions for state-owned entities in a bid to attract private sector investment.
Oceania
PHILIPPINE STAR. The Philippines has started exporting mangoes to Australia with the first shipments of Carabao mangoes expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
