Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that both sides continue to nurture and educate future generations to continue promoting the precious sentiments of the two Parties and peoples.
On the afternoon of October 11, on the occasion of attending the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related summits in Vientiane, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat and Vice President of Laos Bounthong Chitmany.
The Prime Minister congratulated Laos on successfully assuming the role of ASEAN Chair 2024; the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related conferences were organized thoughtfully and safely; Laos did a good job of leading the conferences, helping to enhance Laos' position in the international arena.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos are unique in the world; suggested that both sides continue to nurture and educate future generations to continue promoting the precious sentiments of the two Parties and peoples, considering this a priceless asset of the two nations who have always stood side by side, sharing the ups and downs throughout the struggle for independence and national development; coordinate and support each other in building an independent and self-reliant economy, deeply integrating into the international community, practically and effectively.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh informed that Vietnam is actively implementing the results of the meeting between the two Politburoes in September 2024 and said that the two sides need to continue to do better in exchanging experiences between the two Parties, including human resource training, especially in the context that the two countries are preparing for Party Congresses at all levels towards the National Party Congress.
The Standing Member of the Secretariat and Vice President of Laos expressed his deep gratitude for the great, sincere, timely and effective support and assistance that Vietnam has given to Laos in the past cause of national liberation and the current cause of national construction and development, including support and assistance to Laos in completing the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024.
Standing member of the Secretariat and Vice President of Laos Bounthong Chitmany emphasized that the long-standing tradition, tempered through difficulties and challenges, the vital significance and importance of the special Laos-Vietnam relationship is a priceless common asset of the two peoples, the law of existence and development of each country, and the special meanings and characteristics of the relationship between the two Parties and two countries need to be imbued in cadres, party members and people and passed on to the younger generations in the two countries.
Appreciating the results of the recent meeting between the two Politburoes in Hanoi, the two sides discussed the orientations for bilateral cooperation in the coming time. The Standing Secretary of the Lao Party Central Committee expressed his impression of the strong development in socio-economic and foreign affairs, contributing to helping Vietnam increasingly enhance its position in the international arena.
The two leaders expressed their delight at the good results of cooperation in all areas between the two Parties and States in recent times, especially in politics, economics-trade, security-defense, and exchanges on Party building and cadre training.
In the context of complicated developments in the world and the region, the two sides agreed to coordinate to effectively implement high-level agreements, increase exchanges and share experiences in formulating policies and implementing national construction and development, focus on implementing key cooperation projects; and bring bilateral cooperation relations increasingly deeper, more practical and effective.
