At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Mark Brown once again appreciated the signing of the Joint Communique on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries on April 26, 2022, opening up many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in potential areas.
The two leaders believe that with determination and political trust, the relationship between the two countries will develop more strongly, especially in the fields of economy, trade, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and response to climate change and rising sea levels.
In the coming time, the two sides will send representatives to attend international conferences held in each country such as the International Forum on Fisheries in Cook Islands (December 2023) and the International Forum on Rice in Vietnam (expected at the end of 2023).
Prime Minister Mark Brown expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s development model and achievements and wished to share experiences in socio-economic development and regional and international integration; was ready to create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in potential areas such as tourism and seafood; and affirmed to soon discuss and negotiate with Vietnam on a rice trade cooperation agreement.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides further promote the connectivity and complementarity of the two economies; focus on promoting areas of cooperation with great potential such as agriculture, aquaculture, garment, etc.; and research to expand cooperation in new areas such as digital economy, circular economy, green economy, innovation, etc.

The two Prime Ministers agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums. Prime Minister Mark Brown affirmed that, as the current Chairman of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), he is ready to support and act as a bridge connecting Vietnam with South Pacific countries.
Prime Minister Mark Brown respectfully thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his invitation to visit Vietnam and affirmed that he will soon make this visit.
