Following the success of the television documentary “The Rivers of Quang Nam” (20 episodes, produced and broadcast in 2023), from April 26, 2024, QRT will produce the documentary series “The Quintessence of Quang Nam Crafts” with 20 episodes.
Specifically, it includes the following volumes: The Quintessence of Quang Nam Crafts (overview); On the Pottery River (Thanh Ha, Hoi An); Phuoc Kieu - The Quintessence of Quang Nam Bronze Casting (Dien Phuong, Dien Ban); Forever Echoing the Sound of Lam Yen Drums (Dai Minh, Dai Loc);
One hundred years of keeping the fire of Hong Lu blacksmithing (Hoa Huong, Tam Ky); Kim Bong flower pattern (Cam Kim, Hoi An); The story of incense village (Ha Lam, Thang Binh); The fate of silkworms in Ma Chau silk village (Nam Phuoc, Duy Xuyen);
The quintessence of Co Tu brocade; Cu Lao - The season of cotton hammocks (Tan Hiep, Hoi An); The colors of Ban Thach mat village (Duy Vinh, Duy Xuyen); Que Minh conical hats full of hometown love (Que Minh, Que Son);
Chiem Son brooms (Duy Trinh, Duy Xuyen); Cam Thanh bamboo and coconut - The soul of the countryside in the old town (Cam Thanh, Hoi An); Weaving craft - Cultural imprint of the Co Tu; Hoi An lanterns - Lighting up the heritage land;
Quang Nam Bat Duong - Unforgettable taste; Precious product of Thanh Chau (Hoi An bird's nest exploitation profession); Rich Cua Khe fish sauce (Binh Duong, Thang Binh); Tra Que - A heritage vegetable area (Cam Ha, Hoi An).
The episodes are 18-20 minutes long each, broadcast on QRT at 10:45 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (from September 21 to November 5, 2024).
The television documentary series “Quintessence of Quang Nam Crafts” fully, in detail, and vividly reflects traditional crafts and traditional craft villages, including geographical indications, history of formation and development from the past to the present; clearly showing the quintessence of crafts, conservation trends and development of each craft village in the province; prioritizing localities with many traditional crafts and craft villages with a long history of formation, existence and development, creating famous brands to help identify and position the Quang Nam brand.
Taking craft and craft villages as the main subject, the television documentary “Quintessence of Quang Nam Crafts” will contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values of craft villages, serving as a bridge to bring traditional craft villages into international integration, bringing people more jobs and opportunities to get rich right in their homeland.
