Hanoi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, recruits candidates with a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 like last year, but the graduation exam score requirement has been slightly reduced.

In 2024, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will enroll 640 students, an increase of 40 compared to last year, for the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology and Nursing.

The school uses 5 admission methods, including: based on high school graduation exam scores (35%), considering the Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam scores (35%), considering international English certificates (6%). In addition, the school conducts direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific mechanism of Hanoi National University.

For international English certificate, University of Medicine and Pharmacy requires IELTS minimum 6.5 for Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and 5.5 for other majors.

At the same time, candidates must have a high school graduation exam score that meets the minimum threshold set by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University. The total score of the two subjects in the combination (Math is required) must be at least 16 for Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and 14 for the remaining majors. This level is 1 point lower than last year.

When considering admission by English certificate, the school also divides into two groups with different examination methods.

For the group with IELTS 8.0 or higher, the school will consider IELTS scores from high to low until the quota is full. In case many candidates at the end of the list have the same IELTS score, the school will consider the total score of the two graduation subjects.

For the group with IELTS below 8.0, the admission score is equal to the total converted IELTS score plus the scores of two subjects in the group (Math is required).

In other methods, the admission conditions are similar to last year. As with the assessment of capacity test scores, the school requires a minimum of 100/150 for Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and 80 for other majors. Candidates need to reach the minimum threshold set by the Ministry, and also achieve 8 points in the graduation exam in Chemistry if choosing Pharmacy, 8 points in Biology for Medicine and Dentistry, and 7 points in Biology for the remaining majors.

Tuition fees at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy this year have three levels. Of which, the highest tuition fee is 55 million VND per year for Medicine, 51 million for Pharmacy, and 27.6 million VND for the remaining majors. This level is the same as last year.

Last year, the admission score to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, according to the high school graduation exam score was 23.55-26.8, the highest was in Dentistry.
