Phuong My Chi learns to sing Chau Van and rock, investing 10 billion VND for a free show

School tour 2024 marks a new milestone in Phuong My Chi's musical journey, following the success of the Vu tru co bay showcase held in September 2023. Despite the pouring rain, more than 3,000 spectators at Marie Curie High School braved the rain until the end of the program.

"As a young person who loves traditional culture, I want to convey more of the beauty and values ​​of culture. I want to spread Vietnamese music and national identity to Vietnamese and international audiences, especially young people," Phuong My Chi shared.

According to the crew, the estimated investment for this series of music nights is not less than 10 billion VND. In addition to the sponsor, Phuong My Chi did not receive a salary for a long time to save up for the show.

The singer shared that she is also a student so she understands the difficulties of her peers. "Hearing this number, everyone thinks Phuong My Chi and her team are very rich. Actually, we are poor but want to have good memories," the singer humorously said.

Phuong My Chi said that 2023 taught her many things: Responsibility, patience, gratitude, accepting things that don't go as planned and being strong enough to overcome them. "Seeing the audience's acceptance and support, I am motivated to carry out the School tour 2024 project," Phuong My Chi said.

The music in the program will include songs from the album Vu tru co bay and 4 completely new songs: Luom, Buon trang, Con co va Mat troi, Rock hat gao .

The songs are all composed by Phuong My Chi and the DTAP group, still taking names from literary works and traditional Vietnamese cultural elements, showing the intersection between traditional and modern musical colors.

At each destination, Phuong My Chi and guests will bring many surprises to the audience with investment in stage design, sound, lighting... to convey the unique features of regional culture.

Phuong My Chi revealed that recently, she has learned to play musical instruments, sing folk songs from three regions, Chau Van and rock music to suit the audience in each region.

The singer said: "The three regions always have extremely unique cultural features. The more I learn, the more I love, feel proud, and have more excitement and motivation to learn and cultivate the cultural features of that region, trying to convey those beautiful values ​​through music."

The 2024 Universe of Flying Storks concert series will take place in Hanoi (September 21-22), Da Nang (October 5-6), and Ho Chi Minh City (October 19-20). Each performance will last about 2 hours. The opening performance will be held on September 22 at the University of Foreign Languages ​​(Hanoi).
