The same evening, the official trailer of Nha Gia Tien was also aired on online platforms. The trailer shows many aspects of the story of the ancestral house, from the explosive and humorous encounter between My Tien and the ghost of Gia Minh’s brother, to the “drama” of fighting over property, the ideology of male chauvinism, love and deep connection between relatives.

Through the trailer, Nha Gia Tien promises to be a film imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity when it shows the beauty of glass paintings, the customs of holding death anniversaries, worshipping ancestors, recreating the traditional profession of making banh xeo, and the typical lifestyle of the Southwest region.

After the trailer was shown at the press conference of Nha Gia Tien, Phuong My Chi received many compliments from the audience for her natural acting, true to the cheerful and lovely spirit of the character My Tien.

“The first one or two days of filming, Chi was still a bit nervous, and on the third day, Chi had to film a psychological crying scene. But after that, Chi gradually believed in the character My Tien, to the point that she could act right away as soon as the camera was turned on, even crying right on set. At that time, My Chi was just a name, there was only My Tien on set. Phuong My Chi also created the character in her own way and contributed a lot to the dialogue,” said director Huynh Lap.

Phuong My Chi talked about her first leading role in a movie: “When I read the script for Nha Gia Tien, I was really drawn into the script. Nha Gia Tien has elements of Vietnamese culture, and I also really admire Huynh Lap, so I immediately accepted the role. I felt a connection with the character and also researched and asked Lap and Ly Minh Thang how I could best fit the character. Everyone gave me the confidence to become My Tien in the best way possible.”

At the press conference, when asked why he did not join the Tet film race because Nha Gia Tien belongs to the family and comedy genres and is also suitable for many audiences, Huynh Lap responded: “Initially, I planned to release the film in December, but the film needed to do too many special effects so it could not be released in time, it had to be completed after Tet. I also think that few audiences would go to the cinema on the first day of Tet to watch a movie with ghosts, it is a bit sensitive. After Tet will be a more suitable time for Nha Gia Tien”.
